The Stables Country Club, in Bury, sits in an old stable block converted into a state-of-the-art gym. The original stable partitions create small workout rooms and house various high-tech resistance and cardio gym equipment.The leisure club is also home to two large indoor heated pools, hot tub, swim-in Jacuzzi, saunas, steam room, and even an ice-cold plunge pool.

Fantastic experience: Very relaxing.

Positive experience: Bit of a hit and miss leisure club. Gym is pretty decent - always quiet and has a good range of equipment. The pool and "spa" area really let it down. Feel like during the months of lockdown they should have invested money into maintaining the club, even little things like dirty grout in the steam room hasn't been sorted. Just seems really run down now, which is disappointing. The Gold membership price tag has been reduced but I still think its steep for the quality of facilities provided.

Fantastic experience: Staff is helpful and friendly. Swimming pool and spa is nice and clean. Kids love it. Changing room and shower facilities are also great
Positive experience: A good hotel, even better because it's a Best Western one, so I can earn some BW points. There is a good sized carpark although it can be a bit of a walk if you need to park at the far end. A nice welcome was had at reception and my room was ready to go, even though I arrived a little early. The room was a very good size, clean and tidy. A very comfortable bed, a good nights sleep was had. Breakfast was the standard BW offering with continental and cooked offerings.
