Putney Leisure Centre

Fantastic experience: Been going to the swimming pool here since I was a child. It's a 33m length pool. But even better than that, it also has diving boards! 1m and 3m springboards and a 5m platform board. However due to health and safety babble this 5m board has basically not been open for use for many years which is very disappointing given Crystal Palace and Guildford Spectrum are far away for those wanting a 5m platform board. The pool is an "L" shape and normally they use the vertical part for lane swimming and the horizontal part for the diving section though they will sometimes have the horizontal bit for lane swimming the vertical bit for free swim. That's a poor use of the pool since the unique selling point of the pool is that it has the awesome diving boards. The jacuzzi is for over 18's only and is nice to relax in, pretty relaxing place to chill in, it's fun to contrast it with the cold shower situated near to the sauna and steam room. It has it's own free to use car park and is right next to bus stops on upper richmond road which is helpful. The car park can get busy on the weekends but generally it's not an issue. The last time I went to the gym there I don't remember seeing a squat rack or powercage or olympic bars about for those wanting to squat or deadlift. To me a gym isn't a real gym when it lacks those basic things, though the gym itself is a pretty decent size.

Fantastic experience: Was fun. Kicked everyone out rather rudely at the end but maybe that's just how lifeguards are in London. Had a very nice chap serve us at the front desk.

Fantastic experience: Nice community pool with sauna and steam room. Good for families as with £42 monthly membership you can bring up to 4 kids with you, obviously during the public swimming schedule as some courses or only line swim can go ahead.

Fantastic experience: For people over 65 you can get one year swimming subscription for £125. No joining fee. Excellent pool and members changing rooms in excellent condition.

Fantastic experience: I have been using Putney Leisure Center for the last 6 years and I can say that, this is the best GYM and Swimming pool in Wandsworth. The staffs has always been friendly and helpful. The only issue is somethings the steam room gets broken and we all have to wait until it gets fixed and sometimes this takes forever.

Fantastic experience: I started going to Putney Leisure Centre in 2021 to join the gym and got Mattei to be my Personal Trainer (PT). I cannot praise Matt and the team at the leisure centre highly enough; they are excellent! I hadn't been to a gym in nearly 20 years, and as a disabled person who uses a wheelchair user, I was concerned about injuring myself and not making progress. Matt specifically researched how to safely exercise and protect me from injury, but also make strong progress. We did a variety of exercises and I became much stronger and became much more comfortable with going to the gym and having a strong form on the machines. Matt is a great PT, supportive, challenging and holds a conversation well! I completely recommend Matt as a PT and the wider team and facility at the centre. They are 10/10.

Positive experience: It's grand. Good facilities in general but hard to find your way around. Staff on front desk nice. Staff manning the pools a bit cranky but that's to be expected when policing other people's unruly kids all day. Clean enough. Cool high diving facilities. Parking.

Fantastic experience: Good centre but with all the restrictions in place makes it a tad difficult to get in. Everything has to be booked in advance and with limited places makes it even more a task than a pleasure.

Positive experience: Great pool with diving boards, big pool for lane swimming, a warmer teaching pool and a small even warmer pool that work well for parents with small babies or kids. Life guards with access to underwater cameras look after pool safety. Easy for families as there are also unisex changing cubicles and changing tables. There is also a gym, saunas and a hot tub.

Fantastic experience: Doing their best to keep us safe in a pandemic but I wish there were more time slots or longer opening hours. I guess I will just have to make do with what's available. Better than nothing!

Fantastic experience: Love the diving boards! Just make sure you check before travelling. The pools often have classes over the weekend and close sections of the pool and the diving boards until about 12:30pm.

Fantastic experience: Perfect place to go to the gym or swim if that's what you want to do. The staff are helpful and kind. Has a nice cafe and good changing rooms. If you have a membership the benefits are great such as the ability to book a personal trainer.

Fantastic experience: please let me say I like this leisure centre, comed from Poland 5 years ago to Roehampton on advices of my brother wojciech, he told me come to leisure centre and use the jym and the pole. I used the pole and I spoked to patryk the liffegaurd and he mad me feeled at home like back in warsaw. i enjoy the saunas and stims after long day at works. i enjoy leisure centre and the staffs that work heres. greats plays.

Fantastic experience: Crystal clear like a diamond however this was no diamond in the dirt, this is putney leisure centre. Miles ahead of the competition like my team Man City they are achieving excellence at its purest form! The young will Ferrell looking lifeguard is always on his game, and the other lifeguards follow suit like a 52 card pick up! But this is no game! This is a leisure centre, council facility, minimal funding, which is butchering competition like a finely cut steak from your local! Wow the gym, this has had a fresh refurbishment like the McDonalds in Putney high street but has blown local facilities to smitharines, there’s is no matching like tinder when it comes to this facility as they have pushed and pushed and pushed ,like someone in a broken car stuck at a busy junction, to be the best, putney leisure centre please continue your fine display, like a jewellery shop! Most exciting thing is the cheap prices per month for this! Saver menu for sure! Stay fit and active!!!

Fantastic experience: This is a very good leisure centre, the pool is always clear, changing area is nice and the gym is well equipped. a good place to have your child's birthday party is just gebiusor inflatable castle is just genius

Fantastic experience: First of all, I cannot put into words how excellent this facility is... The sales team like henchmen, the receptionist's exquisite like artists in their own craft, the management stronger than the gladiators in the roman fortress, the lifeguards like Posiodeon lord of the waters. The duty managers, as the great mist would say: "legends in the game like macavelli". I could continue about how excellent the staff are however I feel the need to discuss the facilities. The Gym: state of the art, with machinery as expensive as a Airbus A380, however this gym has 3 floors not 2. This gym is freshly refurbished and is more popular the your local nightclubs. Weights, treadmills, crosstrainers, a stretching area, with a section overlooking the pool so I feel as if i'm racing Michael phelps in a 50 m front crawl. However this is more stimulating than this scenario and more electrifying than the most electrifying man in sports entertainment The great one, the brahma bull The rock. Furthermore the pool is more open then the tennis and the steam room and sauna has more heat then a country borderlining the equator. The diving boards looks more appealing than a cake by dot cotton in an mind-blowing episode of eastenders but due to ongoing problems I cannot use them however just watching from a far. I find myself located in the spa pool, which is perfect for a man of my age who frequently finds himself struggling with back pain. This place is brilliant and I always end up spending hours upon hours. Head down and see for yourself.

Fantastic experience: My local centre! This place is phenomenal, having lived in this area for 40 years+ I have seen this centre build strength upon strength like Eddie hall, the worlds strongest man. This place started off a Wandsworth facility where it’s looked tired and run down like a overworked miner, and under new sub-contractors Place for people has thrived like Ebola to be the subject on everyone’s lips. Excellent cafe “sarnies”, me and my wife Brenda often come for the forever active session and a swim and always find ourselves treating our bodies to a milkshake! The changing rooms are always up to scratch, and the hard working always sweaty cleaner is always in and out of the cleaning cupboard. Sometimes I think she lives in there! But the team of lifeguards are always welcoming like the mats you see when you head round to Susan’s and Paul’s, the new neighbours house. Alert like an ongoing siren and always on the ball like David Silva of Manchester City they continue to provide an exceptional service and I feel like a vip! The young Italian looking man who comes and samples the water is always talkative, sometime even letting a Pavarotti like opera voice reach new heights like that building in Dubai! However this is no Susan Boyle this is the technical man! The lifeguard o think his name is Roy is always talkative, once we had a 30 minute conversation about gravesend when he was meant to be on his break and realised we both grew up there! Small world!

Fantastic experience: Very clean,nice staff,plenty of parking spaces at the back of the building,nice atmosphere inside,very quiet and relaxed therefore a large number of elderly people attending every day.

Fantastic experience: The staff are always very friendly and willing to help with enquiries, the pool is lovely, diving boards a bonus as there are very few within the London area if you don't want to pay a fortune, and the splash pool is perfect for little ones.

Fantastic experience: I'm so happy with this gym - the class offerings are varied with really good teachers, and easily booked. The gym facilities are great and there is always space, even in peak time. The pool is clean and there is almost always lane swimming available. At almost half the price of other clubs with such extensive facilities, and with a really friendly attitude from staff and members, I am so happy I joined!

Fantastic experience: Personal trainers. One of them more because he tried to help or to correct most of the people. Some people doesn't like it but I know he tried just to help, very professional guy, I didn't see that in other gyms, just if you pay for a personal trainer.
