Sports Direct Fitness Guildford

Positive experience: Joined a few months ago and the club suits me just fine. Everyone is friendly and the facilties on the whole are good - considering what you pay. The pool is small but at least I can swim. In my previous, very expensive club, the pool - especially in the summer - was often very busy. It really depends what your requirements are but on the whole mine are met and I am pleased I joined.

Positive experience: it was good but it wasn't brilliant cause when I wanted printing on the back of my footy shirt I had to go in the next day and collect it?!?

Positive experience: Absoultely Delighted to discover this Gem on the outskirts of Guildford, now I have to nurse an Arthritic Hip I needed a non olympic swimming pool, this venue has exactely what I was looking for! Medium sized pool without the ludicras lanes which are common now in larger sports arenas as I don't swim that well and need it more for water physiotherapy, its such a friendly place, staff and other swimmers are helpful and sociable, although I plan to use the inhouse swimming tutorial service for adults (also available for kids if required ) I've actually gained so much confidence my limited swimming has already improved within a couple of months plus the positive effects on my hip! The venue is perfect for me being so close with plenty of customer parking, after the effects of c19 I thought I wouldn't be able to afford the membership however it is very keenly priced with monthly offers which are within the tightest budget, I'm a regular visitor now! ✌ ( If I was to add improvements would be to have a 2 way road or different exit as it can be a problem once committed to the blind bend in the entry lane? Plus hopefully the venue plans for a cafe' to reopen there)

Fantastic experience: Positive: Communication , Professionalism , Quality Good gym session today! Lovely staff that are always willing to give a helping hand and advice on equipment I wasn’t sure on how to use. Decent size swimming pool and changing area is also great and very clean. Will be back again to work out soon!

Fantastic experience: Extensive range of weights and machines, clean, friendly and helpful staff, good car parking and out of town so easy to get to. For the monthly money it is very good value.

Positive experience: I regularly use the pool and it is always very quiet. I also go to Zumba. I think it is excellent value for money. Some of the yoga classes do always have lists though and in order to book you have to stay up until midnight the week before.

Positive experience: For the price of the membership what you get is good. The amount of classes is very good, if you like weight training you'll be more than comfortable here. Cleanliness has greatly improved and there now seems to be a full cleaning team in place. Its easy to take a dim view of the facility when you see the sports direct logo plastered on it, but if you're looking for value for money, or if you like me are mainly focused on your weight training and bodybuilding, this is good for what you will be paying. Also has a squash court, steam room, swimming pool, spin studio and dance/exercise studio and a range of classes available throughout the week. Don't expect big brand leisure club quality at budget health club prices and you will not be disappointed. Put into perspective the value for money is tremendous and having been a member at various other gyms and health clubs in the area i can honestly say the price of this gym does not match up to the number of facilities in the best way possible. Not a bad gym at all. Value for money is unrivaled.

Fantastic experience: No need for any bad reviews- it’s literally £20 for a pretty good gym and swimming pool in notoriously expensive Guildford. For this price it’s either here or The Gym, and I prefer the community here- not intimidating at all for first-time gym goers. I tend to go first thing and usually am the only person in the weights section/yoga room. Slightly busier in the evenings but not ridiculously so. You get more than what you pay for, and therefore an easy 5 star review ❤️

Positive experience: Nice people, could do with a bit of spring cleaning

Fantastic experience: Facilities are small, sure. But it’s a local gym with very few members. It’s rarely cramped with people and I’m almost never having to wait for someone else to finish using the equipment I need. Also I’m frequently the only person in some sections of the gym most days! Staff are friendly enough, but what I can say is the personal trainers are brilliant! They love their work and want to help everyone in there. Personal trainer sessions are expensive, however, I’ve frequently been given free advice from many of them just as a token of thanks for being a member there. Finally, it’s a small community of people. After just a couple months I have met most of the regulars. They’re incredibly friendly and understanding of the gym and it’s size. Never be afraid to just ask if you can use the machine someone else is using. They’ll always be happy to share. This is based on my experience using their free weights and main section. I don’t use the pool/saunas and have never been to one of their classes.
