Kat Parnell BSc (KP) is a Sports Massage Therapist & Personal Trainer in Ipswich, offering personal training, sports massage & group training (Power Hour).

I completed my 4th session of Power Hour last night and can not recommend it enough! Kat is full of enthusiasm and drive from the moment you walk in the door – it’s infectious. Every session is totally different and you walk away feeling smug for days! Be prepared to put in the effort for 60mins and you will wonder why you hadn’t started before! Thanks always Kat ?

I started Power Hour 3 weeks ago having not done exercise for a long time and concerned it would be out of my depth. But I was wrong, the power hours are pushing yourself to YOUR MAX, no one else’s and each week you see that max improve! Once you’re through the door Kat keeps you going! Kat keeps you motivated throughout the workout, full of knowledge and has the time to explain each exercise! Would recommend every time ?

An expert in her field Kat shows in depth knowledge and skills and uses this to really help you to your fitness goals. I highly recommend Kat to anybody what ever your main sport or fitness focus is. I love my PT sessions and am surprised that every week Kat has thought of something new to push and challenge me! As a runner supplementing my overall fitness, I have found a new level of core strength I have never had before training with Kat.

I spent many months stalking Kats Facebook page watching everyone’s journeys and wanting to join in but felt I was to fat and unfit and would be embarrassed amongst the fit individuals that Kat had on her books. How far from the truth it was. I finally plucked up the courage and messaged Kat who reassured me all would be fine and I found myself booked on to my first power hour…the result is I love them…everyone is on their own journey and nobody takes any notice if you are slower or you use a lower weight. Kat is so encouraging, each week is different, never know what you are walking in to do. It has encouraged me to do more at my gym, given me options rather than the treadmill and I know I will not be running a marathon any time soon but I am pleased with my own progress and I am feeling so much better about myself. Do I still hate burpees…yes…but will I let them defeat me like I would have done 6 weeks ago no! Thank you Kat and all the power hour members who each week give me the encouragement to get it done!

Your reasons to continue must be bigger than your reasons to quit. Be ready for the unknown and prepared to adapt to any given obstacle that comes into play. Be fit for life.

Fantastic experience: Kat is amazing, I was going to Ironman Wales massively under trained. I needed any edge I could get and Kat found a way to fit me in for a massage. I definitely put me crossing the finish in part down to Kat's help.

Fantastic experience: I’d been going to Endurance sessions that Kat programmed and delivered at the gym I am a member of in Colchester and absolutely loved them. When these sessions came to an end, I missed the Kat sessions so much that myself and some friends now travel to Ipswich to attend her Power Hour sessions as much as we can. You can always be sure that Kat will push you to work to the very best of your ability. She’s friendly, professional and has created a great fitness community. I would 100% recommend to anyone, no matter what age, shape or ability to give her Power Hour sessions a go. You absolutely won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: KP invited Ipswich Scorpions along to a power hour session a few weeks ago and it honestly was amazing. It worked us hard and left us all feeling great afterwards… so great that we have ended up doing a weekly session with her! Couldn’t recommend power hour more!

Fantastic experience: I come over to attend Kats sessions in Ipswich from Colchester...why do I travel..quite simply because I love her sessions. Always combines a variety of elements within the workouts....ensures that you work to your max level...getting the best out of you physically. Great gym..great trainer .great sessions ..promotes a positive mindset and food for thought in her social media posts. A no brainer in attending ..just wish it was in Colchester

Fantastic experience: Having been out of exercise for a while I wasn't sure what to expect but have found this to be a really non threatening, fun environment. You do what you can do but Kat gets that little extra out of you that you didn't think you had.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending the power hour classes for over 6 months now and can wholeheartedly say it's made a massive improvement to the way I feel mentally and physically. Kat is always at the end the phone if you ever need any advice. You'll always come away from the classes feeling amazing and like you've achieved something. Kat has created a fun, supportive environment and all the power hour members are lovely. I don’t work consistent hours but there’s loads of classes and times to chose from to make sure I get a workout in at some point, so no excuses!

Fantastic experience: Suffering with a long term arm and shoulder issue/injury, it was time I invested in my recovery and rehab and had my first massage with Kat a few weeks ago. Every night since I have slept pain free (two years of waking every night with discomfort or pain has ended). Second massage today and I feel even more relaxed, and knowing this prolongs my ability to train effectively and move well, I will certainly be making it a regular occurrence. Kat is professional and knowledgable and I feel completely at ease during the entire time. I’d highly recommend Kat for a sports massage, a PT session or attending her Power Hour classes. You will wonder why you haven’t done it sooner. Top service and always with a smile.

Fantastic experience: I have psoriatic arthritis which affects all my joints including neck, shoulders and lower back. I've had plenty of physio but the best relief I got was a sports massage from Kat. So, I guess a sports massage is not only for sports injury but for people with arthritic joints. Loosened all my muscles and gave instant relief. I wish I could have a sports massage from Kat every week. Instant relief!

Fantastic experience: Kat has literally changed my whole view on fitness and exercise. I never thought that this would be the thing for me but power hour has changed it all!! How I feel not only physically but mentally after each session is amazing I highly highly recommend anyone to try this no matter what level or experience. Fantastic experience: Having not been doing much exercise in the last few years I started up with kat and her classes. Hard but very rewarding. Suffering from back pain I also attended a few massage sessions which I feel is only doing my wellbeing the world of good.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't done any regular exercise since I was pregnant with my son and he is nearly 5!! I was really nervous about starting Power Hour but Kat and all the other members are so welcoming and supportive. It is hard work but achievable and can be adapted to your abilities if needed. You always finish with a great sense of achievement!

Fantastic experience: Had a really great first session of power hour with Kat. Felt good to be back getting stuck in but without the pressure. Fantastic experience: Working out with Kat at Power Hour is the highlight of my week! Not only is she full of energy and motivational (even at 7am), but she really does get the best out of everyone that attends whatever their level. Kat runs a very inclusive group workout session where you feel that you can compete on your own terms against the rest of the PH attendees. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to see Kat now for over 3 years for PT, group training and sports massage. If you are wanting any of these services, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her, her energy and passion will drive you on to achieve your goals. The group training sessions are a laugh (on zoom or in person), it’s a supportive environment and Kat will keep it fresh and push you to achieve your best.

Fantastic experience: Joining power hour was one of the best decisions I have made. An hour of workouts which are varied every time, challenging and focus on all areas of the body. I was nervous to go to start with and almost turned around when I was driving there for the first time, but I had nothing to worry about. Kat is very friendly, motivating, knowledgable and all of her workouts are you vs you. My favourite is test week as I’m so competitive with myself ! Fantastic experience: Joining Power Hour has hands down been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Having been going to the sessions for over a year now I feel so much stronger, fitter and resilient physically and mentally. Kat is a fantastic trainer who empowers you to push yourself, celebrate your personal bests and come in and move your body for an hour regardless of what your days been like. Its always you vs you. Everyone on the Power Hour members group is a genuine good egg - supportive, encouraging and up for a laugh too. When you need to dig down deep to find that last little push, they’re there to cheer you on which is massively motivating. Kat is constantly keeping you on your toes - no session is ever the same and being able to adapt to zoom sessions during lockdown was a game changer. There are loads of sessions to book on to at various times across the week too. Jamie’s sessions are fab additions - the Sunday morning sesh a firm favourite, really boosts your energy and sets you up for the day! If you’re thinking about starting, getting back into or upping your fitness game this is definitely for you

Fantastic experience: What can I say......... Heard that Kats hour was a tough one so wanted to give it a go. Was nervous prior to the session and honestly hated the whole hour with a passion. Not because it was bad but because it was so good. Pushed me far beyond what I would do if I was on my own and really surprised me with what I could achieve when pushed. When the hour is up the feeling of achievement that results makes it all so worthwhile. I couldn't write a review without mentioning all the lovely other members who support and motive you while in session or during the week through social media. OK let's talk the little lady herself....... Kat is tough. No messing, gets any job done that she sets her mind to. Perfect coaching mentality in that it's her way during sessions but afterwards is always there for a boost or a little touch base to make sure everyone's cool.

Fantastic experience: I used to admire kat across the gym floor, she was so focused and dedicated the type of person I would never dare talk to as she was way way to cool for me! Little did I know I was soon to become a friend ! I was recommended her from a friend for a sports massage. I was a little scared going to see her but I soooo didn’t need to be! What a super cool honest funny selfless knowledgeable wonderful human she is! I then started buddy up Pt which moved on to power hour at current unit. What ever your aims or goals you will reach them and gain a great team of friends and support along the way! You don’t have to be fit to start or can be a fit athlete but kat will improve you in a way you will never regret. I’ve had many injuries along the way and kat has modified the workouts so I don’t have to miss out. I cannot recommend this lady more for massage and fitness and I can promise you you will get so much more ! Nobody leaves without a grin albeit a very sweaty one !

Fantastic experience: This lady is worth her weight on gold. Every session is different and leaves you on the highest high. I come away saying that was the best one ever.. every time! Fantastic experience: I've been dropping in to Power Hour classes for a while now as I'm a keen cyclist/runner and have been looking to improve on strength to support these disciplines and prevent injury. Kat is great at keeping me involved and along with the PH group constantly inspires me to do more, push harder and go further! Jamie's early sessions are also a welcome addition to the timetable- keeping me motivated and even doing the class with me!

I’ve been a gym goer for 20 years and have never been pushed to work so hard in a class or been given the support and encouragement to do so. Fantastic experience: I had been thinking about joining power hour for a while after recommendations from friends, but was dubious I wouldn’t be ‘fit’ enough to join in - but I needn’t have been cautious as everyone was so welcoming! It is by far the hardest I have ever pushed myself physically, having done years of gym workouts and gym classes this was the next level - and I am amazed at what my body has been able to achieve in the few short weeks i have been attending. Kat always makes you push that little bit more - when you think you can’t and are on the floor but somehow you always have that little bit extra inside and afterwards feel (completely exhausted) but amazing!

Fantastic experience: I started going to power hour back in 2018 and then joined back on the power hour fun in the first lockdown. Kat is one of those trainers that makes the workout fun , don’t get me wrong it’s hard and there are some points where you’ll question why you are there , then Kat will shout “It’s your penultimate round buddy!” And you’ll push though. I can’t recommend her personally and professionally enough, as well as power hour itself. There are loads of options of times of classes and the addition of Coach Jamie is great too! It’s not just a class, it’s a support network.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love Kat's Power Hour. I've been going for the last month and it's become one of my favourite weekly workouts. Kat's a fantastic instructor and mixes it up every week so you can always expect something new and different (and most definitely challenging!). Fantastic experience: Kat has been my PT for 3 years and I am fitter, stronger and healthier than I have ever been! I have recently added Power Hours into my training plan which are an awesome way of continuing to build strength, fitness and stamina. It's great to train alongside like minded, motivational people who encourage you to give it 100%! Kat's passion for what she does is motivational and inspiring and I couldn't recommend 1-2-1 PT or Power Hours highly enough!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to see Kat for sports massage for over 2 years now, I always feel the benefits the day after as being a tree surgeon takes its toll on the body. I also started PT/Power hour sessions a year ago, since giving up football a few years ago my fitness had not been up to scratch but now I am feeling fit, strong and get a lot less injuries than before. The sessions are always different, challenging but most of all enjoyable. I couldn’t recommend Kat highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I attended Power Hour for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. As an experienced fitness professional in what feels like a former life, I'd really lost my way and have struggled to find someone or something to help me get back on track. I've been to other classes with poor instruction, lack of values and gimmicks that seem focused on making money that I thought I would never find my own motivation again because I needed some guidance that I could trust. Kat is a game changer, she is just what I need- well thought out session, excellent instruction, attention paid to the mental side of things and you know she is fully invested in her approach. I am excited to rebuild my fitness with her and find my cool again :).

Fantastic experience: Would 100% recommend Kat. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional. Kat's PT sessions offer a positive and supportive environment in which to train. The programme is always challenging but definitely come away feeling like you've given your all and looking forward to the next session. Fantastic experience: Last week I had my first buddy PT session with Kat and it was awesome! It felt great to exercise out of my comfort zone and really test my fitness. Fantastic experience: Had a sports massage from Kat today and I wasn’t disappointed! Kat did a brilliant job preparing me for my ultra marathon at the weekend and I definitely feel ready to go. Armed with her complete knowledge and expertise, I knew I was in good hands from the moment I walked in the studio Not only did I get a top quality massage from someone with the know how, but had a great chat and a laugh too! Fantastic experience: I have recently contacted Kat when my knee started to cause me a great deal of discomfort. I knew she’s generally very busy but thought I would try my luck. Kat scheduled me in for 3 days time for sports massage which I thought was amazing as I expected to be waiting for weeks. Once at the studio Kat made me feel very welcome, she patiently listened to all my concerns while she was working on my legs. Kat’s advise, knowledge and suggestions gave me the reassurance that I am doing all the right things to sort out this niggle and hopefully prevent any future ones.
