Barnet Burnt Oak Leisure Centre

Fantastic experience: I visited the Barnet Burnt Oak Leisure Centre in Edgware, Watling Avenue. I must say upon arriving to the centre I was greated by the most wonderful, helpful and friendly staff. Gym memberships offer access to group exercise classes and swimming all over centres across the London Borough of Barnet. Gym membership prices are quite reasonable. The centre offer concessionary gym memberships for as little as £24.45 with no contract and for students alike. The facilities are very clean and it offers the latest technogym equipment with a wide range of cardio vascular equipment. The fitness instructors are also readily available and can give you advise with training programmes free of charge. I loved it and decided to join on my first visit to the centre. Excellent. I would recommend going to the centre.

Fantastic experience: My daughter does gymnastics here on a Saturday and she loves it. The teachers are amazingly patient with all of the children and get them all involved in the warm up activities and with my daughter being reserved that works well for her. I highly recommend this as an extra curricular activity where your child will have lots of fun.

Fantastic experience: Have been a member for 5 years and Gym has always had solid gym facilities, a good range of classess including: spinning, yoga, functional training, boot camps session. Gym is based on TWO floors. Down stairs treadmill, bikes, stair climbers, rowing machines and weights and UP stairs functional climbing frame, weights, punch and speed bags (equipment has been recently updated for both upstairs and down) Toilet and shower facilities have recently been renovated to an excellent standard. Which previously let the centre down. Overall it's a family friendly gym with badminton, 5 aside football facilities, tennis courts. Only down side there is NO Swimming pool. Staff are very friendly and helpful. For those wanting to make a GP Referral their wellness Team - Billy Philips is excellent!

Fantastic experience: I recently moved to the area and was in desperate need for a local gym. Having been a virgin member for 5 years the main thing I was looking for was classes. After trialing Nuffield hendon (witched turned out to be a dump) and seeing the bad reviews on the mill hill virgin (both coming with heafty price tags) I came across the burnt oat leasure center and the reviews were very promising. I decided to give it a free trail and do a spin class. I signed up straight away the same day. Have been a member now for 3 weeks and absolutely love the range of classes they offer and the instructors are fantastic. Their is definitely a local feel to the gym and i have already got speaking to some of the regulars in the classes. I got my boyfriend to do a trail, who is your typical weights weights weights kind of guy. He was abdoment he needs 50kg dumbells... witch hurahhh they have ! (This very difficult to find both the other two gyms max was 40 and 45 kg). Needless to say he really likes the set up of the gym in the weights section and the facilties are always of a clean standard. There is a decent size car park. Book your classed online a week in advance as they are very popular and get busy. Most amazing thing about this gym it's only £22 a month!!! Huge difference from the £80 I was paying at virgin, over the year that's an extra holiday (with a new gym bod to boot)

Fantastic experience: I use the gym mainly for weights. There are 2 squat racks, 1 Smith machine, lots of dumbells on 2 floors, kettlebells, gymnastic rings, punching bag. Plenty of cable machines, treadmills, bikes, rowing machines on the ground floor. The gym does not get too packed usually. People who come are friendly and as others have said, there is a community feel about it. I don't do the classes but they seem to be very popular. They do your usual spin, boot camp, yoga etc. There are also sports hall for Badminton, basketball and other activities. Also, 5 a side pitches are available. Also, there is plenty of parking. All in all a very welcoming gym. I would recommend it.
