KAL - Spenborough Fitness Complex

Fantastic experience: 1st day of opening and it did not disapoint. Did an aquafit class and really enjoyed the class and the atmosphere was great. Going again on friday for aquafit again. Very nice coffee bar as well. Still going and still loving it, 4 times a week now, enjoy every class but must admit Friday is my favourite class, awesome instructor.

Fantastic experience: Great leisure centre. V new, great classes and equipment. Could do with a clock in the gym floor that shows seconds for those of us who want to do a circuit workout etc.

Fantastic experience: Lovely big car park with a nice little cafe just off the entrance. The swimming pool looks great, a really nice building. Can not give much more information as so far I have only visited to meet with my husband and daughter after their swim. They like it though and plan to go regular for swimming

Fantastic experience: Lovely inflatable play for the older children or active adults. There is also a quieter pool for the non swimmers which has lots of flotation items, balls and other things to play with.

Fantastic experience: Called yesterday to have a look round, very impressed with the set up. A young man called Sam showed me round and I have to say, they have put a lot of thought in to the planning process including parking and benches outside, so it’s a from me.

Fantastic experience: Me and my little man went swimming at the new leisure centre. Immerse was really good, lot's of fun was had by kid's and adults... We loved the ambience in the smaller pool and the changing rooms/showers are all clean and modern

Fantastic experience: Went to do the inflatable obstacle course, was brilliant kids loved it, we loved it. The separate pool with the disco lights, floats and balls was also great.

Fantastic experience: I've been a KAL member for about 6 years and always found the facilities to be mediocre. Things have changed with the new set up at Spen Valley. The gym equipment is up to date and appropriate, a nice mix of strength equipment but lots of kit for those who want to mix it up a bit. The changing rooms have a lot of space and are always clean.

Fantastic experience: I normally use Lockwood gym but was going here on the way to work. I just used the fitness gym and was very pleased. Loads of new equipment with touchscreens. Also has a skierg which I love. The only thing I didn't see was somewhere to warm up, do my hiit and stretch so used the track where this push sled is. Background music wasn't too loud. I used the changing rooms which were perfect, clean, hot fast showers (do need a shelf to put shower bag on) I'll be back to do a weights workout. Has cloths for wiping down equipment which is better than paper towels. Made me feel a bit sad for Lockwood because I love it there but it just feels a bit left behind and doesn't have a skierg.!!!!

Fantastic experience: Got all my swimming badges here as a kid, & recently took a trip back to see the remodel... WOW Not going to lie, if the facilities were this good back in the early naughties, then I'd have probably packed in school & become the next Michael Phelps; almost certain they'll be more athletes coming out of CleckHuddesrFax because of places like this Not to mention abandoned gyms. Not sure if this is an introductory price, or what? But less than 20 quid/ month for a gym & a pool is insanely cheap!! Makes the trek from Huddersfield suddenly seem a lot more viable Proper psyched to revisit & give this new SVLC a whirl

Fantastic experience: Nice to be back at Spen. My pool session on Friday was 8am to 9am, and for the last 15 minutes I was on my own (plus lifeguard). Shower cubicles x 5, and shower lasted long enough for a good wash, without having to repush. Changing cubicles plentiful (although I'm used to 2 hooks, instead of 1 to hang clothes etc). Lots of lockers of different sizes. Car park is height restricted, and enough space. Staff friendly and helpful. Would like to see more swimming sessions in the main pool.

Fantastic experience: The new facility is amazing. The lessons that my daughter goes to our well run and the coaches are strict but fair. Change of facilities are clean and easily accessible and the technology in the pool is very good

Fantastic experience: Wonderful & friendly staff throughout the building. The centre was in need of refurbishment which is now being carried out Josh - swimming instructor for teens does an amazing job. My teenage son learnt to swim within a few weeks by attending only one day in the week. The swimming skills he has taught my son are amazing and more than I was expecting. He is always smiling and brings a lot of confidence in the children. I’m so glad this centre was selected for teen learn to swim and even more that Josh is his swimming teacher. Keep up the good work Josh!

Fantastic experience: Just attended sequence dancing taught by Suzy. Patient and skilled teacher with good SoH! Shame about time of classes - I couldn't normally attend. Was great fun and tried so much in just one session. If you like dancing, definitely one to try (and some of those ladies can really Rock n Roll - magic✨)
