Club Kingswood

Fantastic experience: I love Club Kingswood. I was introduced by a friend to do outdoor yoga classes when everywhere else was closed due to COVID. I now visit almost every day. They have a wide range of classes and racquet sports and amazing gym equipment. I have recently added the gym to my membership and mostly use the egym which keeps me motivated. There is also a swimming pool and spa. Club Kingswood has transformed my life. The staff and trainers are all so friendly and helpful and I have made new friends.

Fantastic experience: A while back I wrote: A long-term member I both give and receive greetings from both staff and fellow members. The new e-gym equipment is a good example of how facilities are kept up to date, and the personal results are both encouraging and flattering! Clean and comfortable, I visit most days and am glad that we live nearby I am now adding the following (July 2022) We have just had a significant Wedding Anniversary and wanted to arrange a ‘get-together’ of family and friends to celebrate. We couldn’t accommodate everyone at home so decided to see what Club Kingswood could offer. The Restaurant Manager was excellent at noting dietary and other needs and on the day the food was clearly labelled, well-presented and tasty. The Manager, Denise, had even cooked a Vegetarian Lasagne for those who did not want the hog being roasted by Paul Benson. The weather was almost too good, some of our guests sitting under parasols on the balcony, while others kept cool in the air-conditioned interior. The subsequent feedback from all our guests has been excellent, and I am pleased to recommend these facilities to others.

Fantastic experience: Been a member here now for over 10 years, the gym is awesome - always improving with new equipment, everything you need and the staff are great. Welcoming atmosphere - no egos and friendly members. Couldn't recommend the gym highly enough!!!

Fantastic experience: Joining this gym has literally changed my life. At 64, I was really noticing a drop in strength and mobility. 8 weeks on using the egym machines and I've regained both. I've found all the staff friendly, approachable, and helpful. Also, much thanks to Tom who produced a workout elsewhere within the gymfor me, and advised on how to get the best out of each exercise.

Fantastic experience: Consistently good classes gym, staff and bar / restaurant now with regular cleaning / housekeeping which is now covid safe orientated and includes regular deep cleans in spa areas. Have used all aspects of the club and been a regular user / member since I first visited over 20 years ago including the bar and restaurant, steam and sauna spa area, squash and racquetball courts, fitness and yoga classes, swimming pool, boxing and martial arts classes, spinning, weight training including the new egym and even hired rooms for our regular company meetings and lunches. It would be hard to be over critical of anything as its generally great in all areas, pretty lucky to have such outstanding facilities so close by. Like every facility its not perfect, there are a few annoying problems like low pressure in the spa area showers that I have reported to Tom and will not reduce the review score as I know he will address them. Update Dec 2021, new spin studio been open a while now, quality bikes and audio / video equipment which make the virtual spin tours a good experience Annoying bits Not enough hooks in spa areas resulting in people having to put their towels on the wet floor Showers in spa area are consistently poor (low water pressure) Not enough hooks for towels resulting in people putting towels on floor or chairs

Fantastic experience: I’ve only been a Member for 7 weeks now and I’m blown away with the quality of equipment and the friendly staff. Plus having a steam and sauna room! Before that I was at David Lloyd for 8 year and Kings Wood by far blows them out the water! Even through Covid I feel very safe with in the club to carry out my training and they always have a person going round cleaning things every hour or so.

Fantastic experience: I have been member of the club for 8+ years. It is a great place to exercise, play squash or have food or pint in the friendly restaurant. All of the staff are always in good mood and that brings in nice energy through out your visit. The club keep on getting latest machines with recent ones where your data goes to cloud and you can review your workout stats. In Covid I have seen the measures put in place and they are very good. One stand out measure is where they have multiple cleaning bottles that each member carry with them when they hit gym to clean equipment after use. The communication through pandemic has been great through mails, FB and what app group. Currently they are allowing 3 people in Sauna and steam rooms and it is great to be back..Hoping they Squash will get back soon...

Fantastic experience: Positive: Communication , Professionalism , Quality Have been a member for many many years and it has always been a brilliant gym to attend, fantastic staff ,very friendly and helpful and the facilities are exceptional. Safety measures put in place since lockdown are very good making it a very safe enviroment.

Fantastic experience: Great to be back at club. Feel totally safe! They have taken every precaution to keep members safe! Using hand sanitiser on entering club and taking your temperature before checking in at reception. We scan our own membership cards as we check-in at reception. There is a table in reception that has bottles of sanitiser which each member collects and with paper towel that is supplied around the gym - each member wipes down each bit of equipment they use whilst in the gym. Equipment has been moved and some removed in keeping with the social distances. Members can work out in a safe space. The studio’s have marked out with a workout area for each member to keep a safe distance whilst taking part in the class and keep classes to a smaller numbers - all keeping with the government guidelines!

Fantastic experience: Been a member since around 10 years old. The staff are friendly, happy to help and accommodating. The club has implemented COVID safe changes to keep members secure while using the facilities. If you play squash or racketball this club is for you... The facilities are the best in Essex!

Fantastic experience: Club Kingswood is definitely one of the most respected gyms in this area. The hospitality is excellent and there is a warm welcoming feeling from the staff. The gym itself is always clean and tidy and you can see the extra effort that has been put in place to tackle COVID-19. Overall, a very welcoming, family run Gym!

Fantastic experience: Positive: Quality Been a meme bet for a couple of years, Excellent gym, always very clean and my son loves going for a swim here. Never too busy and there are plenty of machines. Using the gym here is helping get to my weight loss goal

Fantastic experience: I recently joined after the reopening of Club Kingswood during COVID-19. The strict cleaning regime in the gym makes me feel very comfortable and the spray bottles are a great idea. Checking temperature on arrival and separate entrance and exits were very reassuring. I really feel comfortable here as someone who is new to the gym and joining the club during COVID-19. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Since reopening after lockdown this gym has been simply amazing,everywhere is meticulously and constantly cleaned,the staff are brilliant and also wear protective pipe always. The classes are well spaced with workout zones actually marked out on the class floor! I simply cannot fault this brilliant club!

Fantastic experience: Kingswood is a fantastic gym, with so many lovely staff. They are all so friendly and helpful! The facilities are incredible and the value for money is better than any other gym I've been to. The new safety measures they have are very reassuring. All the equipment and any contact surfaces are wiped down regularly and they provide cleaning sprays for when you're in the gym. The staff wear masks and encourage good hygiene, which in times like these is great to see. They have effective one-way systems and ensure social distancing throughout the facilities.Thank you kingswood team!

Fantastic experience: Great club with plenty of facilities with a nice family feel to it. I have particularly been impressed with its attitude to safety following its reopening following the COVID lockdown. Sanitiser sprays are provided on entry and other places situated throughout the club, together with tissue paper for wiping the equipment. Members of staff are regularly cleaning commonly touched points like doors, banisters and lockers etc. There are also areas set up to control the flow of guests safely. Upon entry your temperature is also checked. Also, throughout the club there are various signs informing you of the rules and advice for the particular activity that you are doing. As an older member, these measure make me feel safe and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I am very impressed with how Club Kingswood have handled the restrictions and changes that Covid-19 has made. They have a one way system on entry and temperature checks. They also provide everyone with their own cleaning spray bottle so each individual can wipe down any equipment before and after use. This gives you piece of mind that everything is extra clean. The sauna and steam room can be booked out for 20 minute intervals which is great. There is also plenty of room in the classes even though the numbers have reduced due to restrictions. Also, hats off to Jason and all bar staff for helping customers adhere to the rules and it still being enjoyable. Thank you for making me feel safe and still enjoying using the gym in these difficult times!

Fantastic experience: Wasn't actually at Club Kingswood was playing golf at Basildon Golf Course. This is probably the best kept course in essex, the fairways are clean and grassy not bald and rough, the greens are unbelievable lush and fast. It has its challenges even the par 3s . When it's over the clubhouse is a joy to relax in or outside if weather permitting. Brilliant day out.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my partner have been a member of the gym now for the last 3 years and we can honestly say it is the best gym we have joined! Since reopening after the lock down the safety measures that the gym have put in place have been brilliant! It is a very clean gym, the staff are polite and welcoming on arrival and throughout the gym. We also like to have lunch and a drink in the bar when food is being served. The food is lovely and the portions size is generous. I always recommend the gym to our friends and family.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym. Very clean and staff are very friendly. Virtual classes are great as they are on many times a day so you can always get a cheeky spin in. Egym is good for when you are not sure what to do also booking squash court has never been a problem. To top it off the bar is nice with sports on the telly and the food is very nice too. Definitely recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym it’s the first gym I’ve used and kept up with it. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I love that I can come in doing my workout with no problem and worries then have a swim and steam room. The food in the restaurant is amazing also.

Fantastic experience: I rejoined the club recently after a very long break. The process was all very easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'm been given lots of help so far and I'm really enjoying the classes. Its always spotlessly clean, the reception staff are so friendly and kind, the class teachers are friendly and supportive. Steve has been really helpful and patient with me too, showing me how to use different equipment in the gym. Definitely recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: Really great gym love it here. Have practically lived at this gym over the past 4 months. The facilities are some of the most extensive I've ever seen in a gym - with 2 gym floors, a tennis court, 7 squash courts, a pool and sauna and steam rooms for the after gym. Fantastic experience: I have been a member of club kings wood for 4 years and would fully recommend club kings wood. For me personally the club is open from 6.00am allowing me to come up the gym before work when I work from home and likewise it is open until late at night so also allows me to come up the gym when I work late in London. Club kings wood has a great range of gym equipment whether it is free weights, machines or electronic equipment so it is perfect whether you are a teenager or 50 like myself or 70 like my father. From the moment you walk into the club you are made to feel welcome when you are greeted by Alex and the team when you sign in and the fitness team are always available to offer help and advice. I would thoroughly recommend using a personal trainer so that they can work with you and establish a programme that is tailored to your requirements and you will clearly see improvements in the way you look and feel about yourself. It also offers a wide range of diverse classes to suit all people including spinning classes. If racket ball or squash is your choice of sport then club kings wood is also perfect for you. The sauna and steam room are a welcome sight to relax after a hard workout and the club also offers a bar and restaurant with great views over the golf course and excellent food at a great price.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Kingswood gym. Since being on placement in Basildon I have spent all my time here! The staff are all so lovely, the facilities are top of the range, and the atmosphere is incredibly friendly. I also have trialled many of the classes and they have all been a fantastic work out. I am very, very sad to leave. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Kingswood!

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best gym and social club in Essex. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The gym equipment is state of the art, I love the e classes. Swimming pool is great. Very family orientated and the bar and restaurant make a great addition. Would highly reccomend.

It seems to keep up with the times (as the e-gym demonstrates) Everything you could require with machines, weights and excellent classes The staff are very friendly and always helpful. Fantastic experience: I have been a member here for many years and have always found the staff friendly and knowledgeable. From arrival with a greeting to departing with a farewell you are made to feel valued. There is more than enough equipment and classes available for any gym goer. The gym was always well mainained but even moreso since re-opening after the panademic on 25th July. Entry is easy having a temperature check and everyone is given a bottle of sanitiser to wipe down the equipment after use, and everyone is doing the cleaning including the staff. They have had a little layout change because of distancing requirements and this has been done without any issues. The gym continues to be a lovely place to attend. IF anyone is anxious about going to a gym because of the situation we find ourselves in then no need to worry with Club Kingswood.

Fantastic experience: Been going here about 4 years now and it’s the best gym in Basildon by far! The staff are so friendly, it has some of the best gym equipment, and the sauna steam room and pool are amazing! The bar and restaurant is very nice too! The burgers are 10/10! Club kingswood is like being part of a community and not just a business! I would recommend it to anyone who wants a great gym but also just a nice place to be :)!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Club Kingswood for 5 months after a 10 year absence from any gym membership and I have not been disappointed. The facilities are of the highest quality. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. Workout programmes are individually tailored and have already helped cure a persistent shoulder injury. Nice bar area that offers good quality meals throughout the weekdays. I would highly recommend this club to anyone of all ages

Fantastic experience: The club has modern facilities and regularly invests in new machinery and equipment. It has an excellent standard of squash and racketball, with a junior section, adult leagues and county level matches. There’s a huge range of classes to suit all abilities and schedules. The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant and bar food is excellent. I’ve been a member at many other clubs across the county but none better than Club Kingswood for health and fitness.

The classes I attend are fantastic and the class teachers are so lovely. Such a beautiful club and so happy to be a part of it

Fantastic experience: This is a great sports facility, gym and function venue. I regularly attend classes, visit the gym and have regular drinks/food in the bar restaurant. (Great Curry!) All of the facilities are of excellent quality. You even see them cleaning well into the evening. The place is sparkling. The other clients are always friendly and you never feel intimidated in classes or the gym, as the mixture of ages is vast. I joined my partner this summer who was a die hard "never go to the gym" person, and he is there 4 nights + per week and thoroughly enjoying it too. The spa facilities are also top quality and use them for all my regular appointments.
