Fantastic experience: What a fantastic hotel! I recently stayed at Merchants Manor and was very impressed. The owners and their staff were incredibly friendly, and we were made to feel very welcome. It really felt like a home away from home in Cornwall. Brilliant beaches within easy walking distance and large hotel swimming pool. They have a fantastic chef as well, and I had their locally sourced fillet steak, which was the best steak I have ever eaten.

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting the Manor for almost two years now and in that time I haven't found a single negative to comment on. The team of staff go above and beyond what I have come to expect and the food is all one could wish for. Not to mention a wonderful selection of wines and speciality spirits. Keep on doing what you're doing. See you soon!

Fantastic experience: Visited this hotel for the second time, there was a warm welcome on arrival, front door open for ventilation. Self check in as before no problems. Asked if we would like a guided look around, we said we had been before and we were then shown to our room no 3, windows were open for ventilation. This room had a spacious walk-in shower. Comfortable bed.Balcony with sea view. My only grumble in this room was the water tank above was filling up until 3am. We would have liked the breakfast to set at the table as before in 2020. Staff seemed very busy, would have thought that if buffet breakfast was on the table on the rack we would not be waiting for coffee, milk and cereal.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic hotel and staff. Best of all though is the food! We have just had the seven course tasting menu. All very different but delicious! If you are thinking about booking all I can say is: Book now, book now, book now! Just had our second night and again the food was excellent. Stephanie is a brilliant manager. Fantastic experience: The staff made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much bother. Stephanie, the Restaurant Manger, and her team were amazing. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful, Anca, I promise I will have cocktails on our next visit. We stayed for 3 nights, on the first night we had the 7 course Taster Menu. The food was incredible and as I am dairy free, Aidan, the chef, altered the dishes so that I could enjoy each course. The evening meals were amazing, breakfast was extremely good, it set us up for the rest of the day. Merchant Manor are moving towards using only ingredients from Cornwall, which also includes alcoholic beverages. The locally produced gin is very tasty especially when mixed with Cornish Tonic Water. We definitely will be returning, the 4 hour drive was more than worth it.

Fantastic experience: Delicious food, fabulous wine list, and friendly and helpful staff. Surprised by the mixed reviews for this hotel. Our room was spacious, clean, and modern with an enormous bed and the pool was huge and quiet. The team worked hard to fix a mix up on our bill/package and we had a lovely time!

Fantastic experience: Booked a 4-day 'foodie' break for my wife and I and my daughter and son-in-law through Secret Escapes Very friendly staff welcomed us on arrival and we were allocated rooms 3 and 4 in the old house which were fabulous. The food was great throughout and the service was friendly and efficient. Enjoyed the self service coffee station. Very highly rate this hotel and would stay there again

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic overnight stay. Enjoyed a lovely walk around the shops in Falmouth, came back to a cocktail near the fire and had an excellent meal. Would totally recommend.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were gifted a tasting menu meal here as part of our honeymoon by my sister and brother-in-law. The lady that greeted us (Amelia who also served us for the majority of the meal) knew who we were straight away and congratulated us. We proceeded to have one of the nicest meals ever with impeccable service. Amelia was new and let us know as such but she did the most amazing job, she made us feel so welcome and told us all about each dish and the chef's thoughts about each. The two other waitresses who served us were also absolutely lovely, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely go back. The food was delicious and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Wow this is amazing hotel. From the moment I walked through the front door I noticed the classy decor, fabulous chandelier and the stunning (real) white orchids and I knew we were in for a treat. It is obvious that a lot of thought and care has been put into creating this lovely haven. It's an online self check in service (lots of hotels are moving towards this system now) but if you need help just ask a member of staff, they are more than willing to assist. Breakfasts are fabulous, lots of choice, my favourites were the overnight oats & the fruit compote, my partner's was the granola, all of which are homemade. The avocado on sourdough with poached eggs and harissa sauce was very tasty too. We liked the fact that the cooked breakfasts were either dry fryed or fryed in very low fat oil as that is so much healthier. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and there was a definite vibe that they liked working there. We had 7 nights fabulous sleep here too, such a comfy bed, mattress, duvets, everything and very quiet too, absolute bliss. The gardens were really well laid out with lots of private sections where you could chill out on massive comfy padded wooden benches I guess you would call them. Max was running the bar there on one of the sunny days that we were chilling out in the gardens, what an amazing guy so helpful providing fantastic service for all the guests. We like to go to different hotels but if we returned to Falmouth it would definitely be to Merchants Manor as it's just a perfect hotel. A big thank you to everyone working there for making our stay so enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: I had a detox massage by Hayley a couple of weeks ago. It's probably the best massage I ever had! I felt like a new woman after the treatment. So relaxing and so professional. I'll definitely come back!

Fantastic experience: This is our second time stay at Merchants Manor Hotel.The staff are very nice and professional, it is close to the beach ️ and not far to walk to the town centre, handy for other umpteen day trips. Facillities are excellent, beautiful pool and comfortable rooms.

Fantastic experience: Hidden gem in Farmouth We stayed with our doggy for a two day get away in the Merchants Manor Hotel. Everything was above our expectations and the staff around Chris, the General Manager, was highly accommodating and proactive. Neve (who seems to have worked everywhere during our stay) look after us very well and was always happy to assist. Her positive, proactive service really left an impression, she is the shining star of the Manor. The grounds are really well looked after and the newly created hidden garden offers tables, lounges and two jacuzzis, which can be booked for free. They even have a small outside bar, which was open in the afternoon to accommodate guests, enjoying the garden. Breakfast-outstanding quality. Rooms are well kept and offer fantastic TempleSpa amenities. If you are in the area-don’t miss out to stay here! Highly recommended. Thank you Chris and Team!

Positive experience: Stayed here for three nights in June. The building is beautiful and so is the bar/dining area. We felt our room was very overpriced for the size compared to much bigger ones in the area, but it was comfy and clean. Breakfast was good, although not much of a variety. We weren’t sure if this was the case because of staffing issues. There seemed to be a lot waiters running around but no one was clearing away anything or helping people who needed something. We went to the bar for a drink and had to wait a long time to be served and then another half an hour for our drinks to arrive. The pool was great and free to use, which is a bonus. We had a lovely time and it’s a good base for staying in Falmouth.

Fantastic experience: We had a lovely 4 night stay at Merchant's manor hotel. The restaurant is absolutely exceptional, and we couldn't help but eat there almost every night. The quality of food and wine blew us away. Breakfast was wonderful. The staff were friendly and attentive, and we were so impressed by Katie in particular who was chatty, knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure we had an excellent time. This place has huge potential. The hotel itself is situated in beautiful grounds with a lovely pool and great views from the restaurant. The rooms are very comfortable, but perhaps a little bit over-priced for the level of luxury they offer. The hotel is well situated, just a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes into the buzz of Falmouth. Would definitely recommend staying here, and we are very much looking forward to coming back.

Fantastic experience: The service is incredible, the food is outstanding. The crativity, story and passion that goes into each dish can be tasted from the first mouthful. The combination of flavours and textures are a delight for any pallet. You will savour each mouthfull and you never want a dish to end! I have stayed and eaten here on several occassions and it will give "the top restaurants" in London a run for their money. This is the hidden gem of Cornwall!

Fantastic experience: We recently booked a romantic couples trip to Merchants Manor with Secret Escapes. From the moment we booked / arrived the customer service was outstanding! Huge thanks to Will who helped us throughout our stay. Our king sized bed was very comfortable and the food is a fantastic standard. We were treated to a glass of champagne, a cream tea and hot chocolate! 2 massages were also included in the package and the masseuse was brilliant. We had a lovely time and look forward to returning!

Fantastic experience: Stayed in a cosy room. Very nice, clean, plenty of room for two of us. Everything you would need in the room. Tea, coffee, shower gel, shampoo etc. Stayed for dinner and breakfast. Food was excellent and so was the service. Used the swimming pool, nice and warm. Lovely stay. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Had a spa day for my birthday. Its a bit spread out and not for those of us with poor mobility. BUT staff, food and amenities great. Just would have liked a few more sunbeds around the pool and a first aid kit at pool or gym. As pulled my nail off on patio door, had to hobble everywhere for a plaster, ended up in reception then waited 10 mins for a first aider (lovely chef...made the pain nicer lol).

Fantastic experience: A wonderful dining experience. Taste and food presentation was exquisite. The hotel had been recommended to me but I had no idea about the food. What an absolute joy it was. The artistic delivery of each course was breath-taking. All the staff were so friendly yet very informed and professional. First time visit to this Hotel and will definitely return. Ambiance and décor was both thrilling and relaxing. The 'virtual' reception is a hoot and free parking was such a bonus.

Fantastic experience: Clean room, good service and varied and delicious breakfast! I had porridge with soymilk and avocado on toast ( I added a bit of salt and pepper and it was heavenly! ) Nice swimming pool and gym which are free for guests. Also nice and friendly staff!

Fantastic experience: All the wonderful staff at Merchants Manor made our wedding last week 6.6.19 an absolutely memorable experience. From the girlie day with spa treatments the day before to being thoroughly looked after throughout our special day all I can say is ‘magical’. Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic couple of nights here. The room was top-notch with Prosecco on ice, the facilities were great and not too busy, and the food was spectacular. The staff, in particular the dining team, were very welcoming. They were knowledgeable about the food and made us a few special drinks using their own gin and local tonics. Will visit again.

Fantastic experience: Loved the restaurant and had a great experience. I’m not sure what the other reviewers are on about flags for but the chefs take on fish & chips here was better than anything I had in Cornwall elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Was treated to a stay here by my partner for my 30th and it was amazing. The best part for me was the food. The chef here is fantastic as were the floor managers in the restaurant. I was genuinely sad to leave here. The only critisism I'd have is that the jacuzzi wasn't really a jacuzzi and there is no where to sit around the pool. I enjoyed my spa treatments even though my partner arranged for me to have two one hour treatments yet I only had an hour and a half combined which was slightly frustrating. But otherwise, I'd love to revisit and Falmouth was a lovely place to explore.

Fantastic experience: Excellent hotel and restaurant. All rooms well decorated and clean. All facilities that could be needed present. Lovely pool and spa area, a cosy lounge, a library, a snug and a nice bright dining room. All staff we encountered were friendly and professional, and always went out of their way to ensure we were happy. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, we had a few allergy issues but staff did all to ensure we were happy. In hindsight we sound have informed the kitchen before we arrived of any requirements to allow them chance to offer options. Would definatly return and recommend to all.

Fantastic experience: If you are more than 6ft tall u will be able to stand in the deep end of the swimming pool. The food is great, the service is wonderful, the rooms are amazing. I would recommend it to anyone visiting falmouth for the first time

Fantastic experience: the owners have transformed this hotel to the best there is fantastic food, great hotel, great leisure facilities all together the best you could want. ideal position for seeing cornwalls best beaches and facilities. we have been coming for 3 years now and have stayed 5 times and will certainly be back again.

Fantastic experience: This is such a great hotel. The staff couldn't be more helpful, the food is amazing and close to fantastic beaches. The hotel helped us organise a day's activity at the beach nearby - paddle boarding, kayaking and costeering which was really good fun and really good value. The pool was closed for refurbishment so we consoled ourselves by trying out their new Spa. I've been to lots of spa hotels and the Merchants Manor treatment rooms are as good any I've experienced. It has a relaxing atmosphere and we weren't rushed in and out, very professional. I had one of the best massages I've ever had - would definitely do that again. So much to see and do in the area - don't miss the Pandora Inn, great pub on the water. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Falmouth
