Basildon Sporting Village Climbing Wall

Fantastic experience: Basildon Sporting village has excellent facilities. It has a superb pool and gym, and isn't priced too badly either.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant facilities but can be terribly busy and no one enforces lane etiquette. Fat Condor men often seen doing breaststroke. Would suggest that they need more people working on the front desk at times as you can wait 10 mins just to pay. I won't add my issues about payment by DD for kids swimming lessons as I think it's head office that mess that up? The managers email doesn't appear to work as they never respond.

Fantastic experience: I have belonged to various clubs within the facilities provided by the Basildon sporting village for almost 4 years now. Through personal eperience i find that both outdoor, and indoor actities are held up to exceptional standards with nothing to complain about. I feel that many previous comments include stressed parents and senior grumpy members of the society.It is only right that these noble facilites shouldn't be downgraded by those experiencing distressing times. P.S. I don't beleive that the pricing is an issue, if this is the case than perhaps you should try looking for a gym with no more than a running machine and bench press.

Fantastic experience: Staff are brilliant always up grading,very helpful friendly at ease, kept quite clean lovely changing rooms showers pool is fab too.

Fantastic experience: We booked through the app. Swimming was the activity and we can say we are very impressed. It was easy to gain access to the facilities, the locker rooms we clean, the lockers are easy to use. Just make sure you have a token or a £1 coin. They have 1 hour booking slots, when you enter the pool area its a little unclear if your OK to enter the pool. I asked a lifeguard and confirmed our session in the pool. Overall a good experience

Fantastic experience: Brought my daughter for her swimming lessons...it was a lovely experience...Teacher was good and attended to all the students in her class including my daughter... I would like to start my own classes as well... I need to get over the fear of water...

Fantastic experience: My Grandsons do Gymnastics at this British training ground xx great venue. An update My 10yr old Grandson has worked hard and has started his training for the Olympic team. The other Grandson is a little older and has started his training as a team trainer. Great opportunities at Basildon Sporting Village.

Fantastic experience: Today I visited the SV for Spin and Gym all your colleagues were very helpful and friendly. I also used the cafeteria, I found the service to be exceptionally good. Fantastic experience: Great service at Basildon sporting village. Visited as a wheelchair user and was really pleased with how accessible and inclusive the site was. The team were really friendly, Scot on memberships was bright and helpful, and Lyndsey running SportsForConfidence was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and made us feel great about coming to the gym despite the obstacles of being a wheelchair user

Fantastic experience: My Granddaughter is learning to swim here her trainer is Mark and he's very good at what he does, my Granddaughter had next to no confidence in the water and now she can swim she has a lot of confidence in Mark, she also goes here for Gymnastics and again no complaints she's getting on great. The place is clean and bright the staff are very friendly just a nice place to go

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for my children's lessons for many years, and usually have nothing nice to say, (rude staff amongst other things) but today, I couldn't fault them. We didn't even make it inside the building and my accident prone daughter fell, hit her head on the floor. A lovely lady walking past asked if I wanted an ice pack, she went inside and within seconds there was 3 members of the first aid staff attending to her. 1 whom had been the other side of the building, they were all so kind, caring and asked how she was every time they passed us, including an hour and half later. I couldn't fault these amazing people, Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: Positive: Professionalism I just completed the 5k Swimathon at Basildon pool. I was very slow My worst time ever. The pool staff were incredibly patient kind and encouraging. Really supported the whole event and went above and beyond. Thank you so much I raised £400 in memory of a good friend Kate who would have told me to give up when you all encouraged me.

Fantastic experience: Go there for swimming ‍♂️ the organisation and distance is 100 % I feel safe and certainly get back to some energy, muscles and hopefully my shape . I feel more awake.

Fantastic experience: I have never had problems with this place I have been here like 25 times all the staff were nice and kind to each other very professional never had issues with these people lovely place for people to go and enjoy themselves no one shouts at each other they never ignore people or the public which is a good thing this place I’m certainly going to put 5 stars as it’s really good I would definitely recommend this place it’s also perfect for little and middle aged children same with the adults lovely cafe and lovely drinks.

Fantastic experience: Staff are friendly and approachable don't feel intimidated by other useras they are all friendly but my one complaint is the changing rooms and showers. I don't think that they are ever cleaned dirt on floors in changing areas and hair and other products in showers not hygienic in any way

Fantastic experience: Very very good facilities and great staff. Have been to the swimming pool countless times and it is honestly the best pool in Essex. 50m pool with a moving boom and half the pool’s floor can be elevated, pool has 8 lanes and starting blocks at both ends of the pool as well as fully functioning time pads and starting cameras. As well as swimming, the facility also offers many other sports such as football, athletics, gymnastics and rock climbing. Highly recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: A fantastic modern sporting facility for the local area that replaced the much loved but sadly outdated and past their best old pool nearer the town centre and the netball and tennis courts etc. its clean and bright and the olympic sized pool is kept at a nice temperature and there's no overwhelming chlorine exoerience there. the Showers are great and the changing rooms are spacious. All round it's a great facility

Fantastic experience: Went for school gala finals. Fantastic 50m pool but mostly split in two. Seating area not really sufficient for events. Large free parking. I believe there is a climbing wall, squash courts and a couple of sports halls.

Fantastic experience: I use it for the swimming pool. It is Olympic sized but usually divided in the middle into a deep water and a teaching pool. One of the best pools around with good facilities, and a cafe. You get 20% discount if you have an everyone active card.

Fantastic experience: Went for a swimming gala. Plenty of parking and a great facility. Additional signposting on the surrounding roads would make it a lot easier to find.

Fantastic experience: Visit here twice a week as my daughter has swimming and climbing. Enjoy having hot chocolate from canteen of which staff are pleasant. The staff on climbing wall are great and my daughter thoroughly enjoys her hour work out. This place has lots of activities going on and does get busy. Reception staff are pleasant. Building is clean. My daughter enjoys her swimming lesson but unfortunately her instructor was changed due to further progression in his career. This has affected my daughters concentration due to spending more time out of the water where I have to constantly tell her she must listen. I have already changed her to a different instructor as did not feel the replacement was on same level as previous, so being observent to ensure her progression goes forward and not backwards.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic lesson here for my 6 year old son. Chloe was great, guiding and encouraging him. I recommend this venue and will definitely come again.

Fantastic experience: Great facility. I use it for so much, gymnastics for my toddler, the gym is light and clean. The crèche is the best and the staff are the only people I trust my child with.

Fantastic experience: Did a family climbing taster session here. It was great. We were instructed by a lady who's sister also works here - they were very friendly and patient with all of us and explained things well. Safety is taken seriously but you are also encouraged to push yourself and have fun. Easy to find - free parking lots of fun.

Fantastic experience: Big, spacious, clean. Gym membership is cheap and the facilities are great. My daughter has swimming lessons here, the teachers are lovely and professional. Other classes for kids are also available here like gymnastics. Cafe area is also great for a quick lunch and a cup of coffee.

Fantastic experience: No problems at all. The best thing was where the pool was split into 2 parts there was much more room and I could actually have a work out in it which was good as some of them the lanes are sometimes busy but this was one of the better ones as there were plenty and plenty of space of space for people who want to splash around as well.

Fantastic experience: I play with my five a side football team hear and the 3G pitches are top quality , the car park can get busy but u can always find a space , if your interested in starting a team hear just google Powerplay :)

Fantastic experience: Big improvement on the facilties we had before but even though there is a massive car park it gets full so quick as there is so much there if there is an event or a football night it's impossible to park.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic sporting facility. 50m pool, 8 badminton courts, state of the art gym. Only downside is that it is so popular that parking can be problematic, especially during the winter months.

Fantastic experience: A great place to introduce your kids to rock climbing. Its not just for kids though, as even adults can join in the challenging yet fun task of rock climbing. This is housed within the popular Basildon Sporting Village. Its better to book in advance. The experienced staff will put you/your kids throigh the paces in a safe way. Our kids tried this a few times and they've always enjoyed it. There different levels of wall inclines to suit different level of fitness/expertise. Give it a go!

Fantastic experience: Brillant sport centre, I'm a member of the gym and the equipment is brillant and plenty of it as well, I have never had to wait for equipment always plenty of machines free to use
