Active Hyde

Fantastic experience: Even though I live in Stockport I much prefer to take the children to Hyde as it always warm - both the water and the ambient air temperature. It is a fun pool with very shallow water suitable for toddlers and babies going to deeper water with areas of rapids and a seperate fun slide. Also a jaquizzi for adults. They have a wave machine which they clearly warn you about so if youre a poor swimmer you can retreat to shallower water or alternatively go swim in the waves and they have a water cannon they turn on intermittently. The changing areas are clean and lots of lockers and family areas too. There are public showers on the way in/out but also private cubicles just around the side. Theres also a cafe where you can get something to eat should you require and you can hold parties there. Also vending machines etc. And free parking to boot - unlike Stockport ( where its always cold :(

Fantastic experience: The gym has everything you need to do a good Workout, all equipment is well maintained. Good size changing rooms and kept clean, friendly staff & easy to book onto classes

Positive experience: Over all was good experience, but the only thing that let it down was the changing room and showers! I saw lots people leaving 30 minutes earlier and after I understand why!! Because it was not enough showers for every one so you need to wait with the kids!! And after that you need to wait for the changing room because it not enough for everyone in same time!!

Positive experience: Great place, wanted to go with my teenage boys 13 & 15 so we could gym together...but teenagers not allowed in after 5 weekdays even if accompanied with an adult and only off peak times at weekends, which isn't convenient for me as I would like to go with my boys after I finish work at 6 oh well other active gyms are closer and don't have this rule in place....gym equipment ok and explains how to use it

Fantastic experience: The site is currently being used as a drive through corona virus vaccination site. The medical staff and volunteers working are very friendly and helpful. It is well organised.

Fantastic experience: Good friendly staff in the Gym and new 6 Lane pool at Hyde Leisure which is really nice. I did receive a strike this week for a late cancellation which I think is unfair as the session was undersubscribed (2 strikes results in an 8 day ban!) I think this new rule needs refining to suit the necessity, ie sessions with waiting lists. Finally I have noticed some struggling with app bookings, maybe there could be extra support for the less technical. The Trust has a great ethos which needs to resonate throughout the organisation.

Positive experience: Took the grandchildren. 10 & 13 .Booking essential as limited availability. Able to book on line. When arrived there was a young women who checked your booking and gave the bands. Only had to wait a few minutes for a changing room. Lockers available for your clothes although need a £1 coin to lock.( Given back once reopened). Found not too crowded so all able to move around in the pool. Children enjoyed the waterslide and the waves. If you have young children or even those who are older it's best to keep an eye on them when the wave machine starts as although good fun can cause them to become tired very quickly and if feet not able to safely touch the floor can go under the water. lifeguards all paying attention and making sure children safe. All in all it's a very good afternoon and not too expensive at £2 for under 5 and £3.50 for older ones. £5.50 for adults. There is a cafe that you can go in after for a drink/food or watch from if not swimming .

Fantastic experience: Leo has his swimming lesson here and the swim instructors are really good. Leo loves swimming he also enjoyed his swim party. Everyone is friendly and welcoming at Hyde leisure.

Fantastic experience: Excellent setup for beginners and seasoned sports fans. I am starting up shortly and needed to find a way to get more active while coping with mobility issues. Hopefully add more as things progress

Fantastic experience: Fantastic centre, all staff are helpful, friendly and knowledgable. You are always made welcome and feel part of the Hyde family. The centre is well equipped and always clean. The pool is fantastic for kids of all ages, it does get busy on a weekend but that is to be expected. My daughter is now on a stage 2 at swimming and is very confident in the water. I feel this is down to the brilliant swim instructors who have a fab balance of both fun and practise. On a hole I love this centre and will never tire of shouting about it. Keep up the fantastic work Hyde.

Fantastic experience: My son has recently started swimming lessons here, after having a less-than-stellar time at a previous venue. Though my son is extremely shy when starting new things, his teacher, Tracy, has done an excellent job in making sure that he is welcomed in and comfortable during the lessons. The facilities are very clean and there are plenty of changing rooms available. This place, so far, has pleasantly surprised me with how nice both the staff and facilities are here. The only con that I could possibly muster is that there is perhaps not adequate viewing areas for all the parents to watch their children whilst they are in the lessons, but this is a minor concern and does not detract from the overall experience.

Fantastic experience: Value for money 5 stars! Think for a family of 4 it cost in the reign of about £15 which I thought was an alright price to pay. We stayed in the pool for about 1 hour which was enough. We would definitely recommend this place to other families. Thanks for the warm welcome at reception. I had some food which was nice. All round good experience.

Fantastic experience: We visited on the 22nd Feb when it was half term for our little one. We arrived at 9:10am and were first ones in the pool. We stayed for about 1hr 30mins. There were 3 or 4 life guards at any one time and the changing rooms were clean. The visit cost us about £15 so I thought it was very good value

Fantastic experience: The fun side of swimming is all here, slides, wave machine everything. A big negative is the changing cubicles there's not enough. Not so bad when you've just walked in you don't mind running around to find one. Massive problem was when you get out, you're cold, wet carrying your bags AND if you have a little one with you then it's murder.

Fantastic experience: Great for a fun swimming session. The slide doesn't land in a pool so kids don't have to be strong swimmers to be allowed on - result for younger ones! Has rapids, waves, jacuzzi and fountains - you could easily stay a couple of hours at least! Only little issue is there aren't many changing rooms at busy times so would recommend not staying til the very end of the last session.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic for the children! Little bit of a nightmare trying to find a changing room as it was so busy, but it was the school holidays. Staff were great and customer service from reception staff excellent when dealing with an issue

Fantastic experience: My son and I had great fun in the pool. He loved the water slide and the small lazy river but his favourite was the wave machine. Great stuff.

Fantastic experience: The Wave session is fantastic, waves happen every half an hour, the big red slide is also open all day. The changing room facilities are great for families, plenty of big changing rooms. Whole place is clean and there always seemed to be a member of staff drying the floors.

Fantastic experience: Love this place great facility staff are always happy to help. Wave pool is awesome as is the lazy lagoon. There's also a water slide. Upstairs there is a gym and there's a café on site too

Fantastic experience: Really good for family with kids. Wave machine, big slide, rapids, sprinklers and plenty of floats to play with. Fairly priced, clean, plenty of lockers and changing rooms, showers. Guards are friendly and do their jobs well without bolocking the kids. 5

Fantastic experience: Our first visit and my 6 year old has given it 5 stars. She's had a great time in the pool and is enjoying her slushy and kids meal (as well as sharing my food too!)

Fantastic experience: I had an Epileptic Seizure in the Swimming Pool at Hyde on Sunday. The staff were friendly and professional and helped my 17 year old daughter get me to the First Aid room to rest and awake. Thank you to them and also to the 2 helpful members of the public who held me floating while she removed me from the pool. A brilliant centre! I'll be back - conscious I hope as these are rare!!

Fantastic experience: This is my favourite swimming baths. Can get quite busy due to popularity. Has a nice cafe/restaurant, the pool has a wave machine, a current tunnel and a water slide. Great fun for everyone.

Fantastic experience: One of the best leisure pools I have ever been to, the water is warm and there is a good size slide also the changing rooms are clean and the staff are always welcoming and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Great place to take the kids they love the waves especially in the rapids and the slide is fun but there is always a long queue. Do note that there are not a lot of changing rooms which can cause problems when you are wet and cold and all you want to do is get dry.
