Fantastic experience: I joined the club in 2016 when I discovered that I had been lucky enough to get a place in the 2017 London Marathon. I knew that I would need a lot of help and support to get up to marathon standard from people who knew what they were talking about. I was very nervous the first time I attended a session as I just did not know what to expect, however, I was made to feel incredibly welcome and was very well looked after. I couldn't wait to go back for the next session. In April 2017 I completed the London Marathon, I can honestly say it was up there in the top 5 days of my life. I am so grateful to Maidenhead Athletic Club because they gave me the confidence to believe that I could go the distance, the training plan to follow and the support and friendship when things got tough. Thanks to all at MAC!

Fantastic experience: Popular club with a long waiting list for juniors. Get your name down ASAP. Lots of enthusiasm and encouragement for all abilities. Adults, no waiting and very friendly team.

Fantastic experience: I joined the club a couple of years ago and was quite nervous to start with. Everyone is very helpful and supportive and to top it all there's often a nice cup of tea and piece of cake after a run!

Fantastic experience: I am over 70, and have been a member of MAC for a few years. What a welcoming, friendly, enthusiastic and encouraging Club we have! There are optional runs of various distances organised most evenings, and a lovely Social one on Sunday mornings. The Juniors (Under 18s) sometime run with the seniors, other times they do their own. The Club has a good 400m running track used often for coaching sessions, but can be soggy in heavy rain due to poor drainage. This is being addressed in the long term. Meanwhile, the coaches / leaders always find alternative running routes to suit. We also take part in inter-Clubs Cross Country races in the winter and 5K races in the summer. We have social events too. Great fun!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and welcoming club. I've been a senior member for 4 years and really enjoy being part of the club. The coaching staff and various members give up so much of their valuable time, always improving with new ideas. Suitable for all levels of running, whether a beginner or seasoned runner. Check out the website for more details..

Fantastic experience: I joined as a novice runner over ten years ago and was welcomed into the club. I have improved thanks to the help and advice of coaches and other members and hope I can pass that on to other new members. The best thing is that there are people of all abilities, so everyone can find someone to run with. This, along with the modern clubhouse with hot showers and a full programme of social events really make this a great club to join!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly local Athletics club. Coaches are fantastic at encouraging young athletes to train and take part in competitions regardless of ability. Young athletes also encourage and support each other and are still involved in athletics as they become older teenagers.
