Positive experience: Decent place, but I use this venue more on a Saturday then any other day, for the Park Run.

Fantastic experience: Visited for a private pool hire. It was brilliant, the pool area looked great after its revamp. Nice and clean. The cafe area looks really good. Nice music playing.

Fantastic experience: The family booked the outside pool for a couple of hours. Fabulous! Pool big enough for games and a swim. Loungers and chairs/ tables. Cafe inside if wanted. Yes, weather helped...but it was a fantastic event.

Positive experience: Cornard sports centre is part of Thomas Gainsborough school, previously Great Cornard Upper School. I used to visit the climbing wall about 16 years ago and I've been going back recently as it's the only one in the vicinity. The wall hasn't changed in that time, which is a bit of a shame, but I suppose beggars can't be choosers. It's an ok wall, good for a quick bouldering session and ideal if you want to teach a young kid to climb. My nephew is 7 and we've been along him. Its a good height for someone of that age to learn on. If you're an adult and you want to learn to climb you night be better off heading to Colchester. The good thing about this climbing wall is that most of the time there's no one on it. The staff also leave you to it which is great if you know what you're doing. Not ideal if you want advice or help, but I don't so it suits me. They do offer advice if you request it when signing up. Not sure how good they are but they do offer it. Other good things is that it's dirt cheap. Membership is a fiver and it only cost a few pound to have a session. I've given the place 4 stars because to be honest, I'm very grateful this climbing wall exists. Its a great facility to have in the Sudbury area and I hope they keep it for a long time into the future (or even upgrade it and make it larger!). Also worth noting, the place does coffees, teas, snacks etc and you can rent the sports hall for things like badminton, basketball, 5-a-side etc. Pretty good facilities generally for a school sports centre.
