Fantastic experience: Just had our 3rd visit this year , we always have a enjoyable and relaxing time . The staff are always friendly and helpful and some we got to know quite well . The hotel is set in lovely grounds and the views are amazing .We always eat breakfast and evening meal here and cannot fault the service. Bath City is only a few miles away . We are returning in September and can't wait .

Positive experience: Combe grove, what a experience! First of all let me tell you the views were amazing and the food, wow! I could eat so many of their pizzas. Yum. There was a oopsie in the outside pool :/. Luckily I spotted early and managed to get the manager quickly to scoop it out. Wasnt clear if it was human. We were the told 9114 was the password to the gate but it turned out the actaul password was 3777. Anyways had a really good trip, might come again might not, it was on the pricey end I will say that!. If you have a female women who to bring on date then this could be good? Just dont take her to the pool.

Positive experience: Very lovely old manor hotel, although there is something missing.The atmosphere was not warm enough. Need to make it a bit lively put the fireplace in or maybe couple of candles around. We’ve stayed 2 nights when we visit dinning area was untidy with the glasses and dirty plates around. Except those things view from the garden is fantastic. Rooms area spacious and clean. Also all staff was kind and helpful.

Fantastic experience: My fiancé planned a nice little 2 day stay here at the hotel to celebrate our engagement. It was so quaint and lovely. The grounds were stunning and the building was what I expected a typical English manor house to look like (I am from the states). My fiancé surprised me with a couple beauty treatments from the spa. As an esthetician in the states I was excited to receive some pampering myself and I wasn’t sure what to expect over here in England. Zoe is the name of the beautician who gave me an incredible full body massage and a wonderful facial. She was an absolute delight. Such a bubbly and sweet personality that fit her beauty skills. She had great advice on how to keep my back stretched and how to hydrate my skin with the products she used during the facial. My skin looked incredible and felt like silk afterward. She also had a few good tips on where to enjoy a nice meal after my services. She was amazing! I would definitely come back just to see her for another treatment! If you’re planning on staying at this hotel DEFINITELY request a beauty treatment from Zoe! You won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: The day that we were meant to check in, our little girl had to be rushed into hospital, where we stayed for almost all of the time we had booked at the hotel. When we got in contact to let them know our situation, Kerrie, who is in charge of reservations, told us it was no problem to shift the days so we could still have a couple of nights there when we were discharged. On arrival, Sarah at the front desk was more than happy to help get us settled in, and every one of the staff that we spoke to for the next 2 days couldn’t have been friendlier. I’ve never had a better experience with a hotel, it was so nice having that wonderful experience at the end of an extremely stressful time!

Fantastic experience: Had a great stay here, My room was excellent, nicely furnished with perfect lighting for relaxing in. The views are wonderful too. Swim in the outdoor pool (heated) which was fun. The food was 1st rate, also the wine list has 2 red English wines on it, tried a glass of each, both very good. Staff are very friendly.

Fantastic experience: This hotel is perfect if you want to escape London (or any other big city!) for a few days and relax in the countryside. It’s quiet, beautiful, and very, very relaxing. Just a few things that may be useful: if you don’t have a car, note that you can’t really walk to Bath, it’s too far. Also you won’t be able to do grocery shopping easily unless you walk to the next village, which is doable but again, a bit far. Breakfast at the hotel is fantastic though (so much to eat you probably won’t need a lunch!) and diners at the restaurant are excellent too. You can walk to the Prior Park Landscape Garden (it’s a long walk but walking’s good right ;), definitely worth it. The gym is nice and well-equipped. I also highly recommend to book teatments in advance (although you may want to confirm them when you’re at the hotel as the guy I spoke to on the phone forgot to book one of my massages); the facial I had was one of the best I’ve ever had. Again, perfect if you want to spend a few days sleeping, relaxing, doing some sport and enjoying the pure air of the countryside! You’ll be radiant when you come back to work ;)

Fantastic experience: Exceptional rooms and surroundings. Staff all very helpful. Breakfast is made to order and is a very high quality. The only slight grumble was the amount of stairs to our room at the top of the garden suite, but there are lifts in the main building. Overall, we had a brilliant stay.

Fantastic experience: It gets better and better.... I have been coming here on and off for the past 6 years and it got so bad I stopped coming despite it being so close and convenient for my work. The staff are now very polite, personable and professional. The food is excellent and a limited choice means a focus on quality. The rooms are much improved. John is an asset to the hotel.

Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved our stay in Combe Grove Hotel! It is located just outside the Bath city center and easy to get to by Taxi, Rental Car, or Uber. This was important to us since we were training in from London and picking up a rental car (American drivers) plus we wanted to explore Bath and the surrounding towns in the Cotswolds. Another perk was FREE PARKING! Upon arrival we noticed the lovely winding road that lead us to the Manor. We were greeted at the front desk and proceeded with check in. The front doors were open so that we could see a beautiful landscape and a cool breeze swept through as if the Manor was welcoming us! After bouncing around London for a week this hotel was the much needed rest and home base we had hoped for in order to enjoy Bath and the surrounding towns. AMENITIES: Combe Grove really has everything you could need and it is so relaxing! The staff were EXTREMELY helpful and welcoming. A few hi-lights: Comfortable Rooms, a Spa, Indoor/Outdoor pool, Fitness Center, Tennis Court, Quiet Atmosphere, a Restaurant which serves delicious meals and drinks all day. The dining and drawing rooms are so beautiful and a great place to enjoy your meal or a cup of tea. Also a lovely outdoors space to enjoy a view of the English countryside. We loved the historic charm of the manor with the updated modern comforts. ROOM: We stayed in the actual manor house and had lovely a spacious room including a very comfortable bed, large bathroom, sitting room, and a dreamy valley view. The decor is tasteful with a modern flair. We even had a fresh supply of bottled water and tea/coffee for the kettle. It seems the other rooms also have a nice view too so I don't think you will miss out either way. FOOD: Speaking of food, take advantage for their amazing menu items in the restaurant. Everything we ate was delicious and Instagram worthy. I highly recommend this hotel! Book it!

Fantastic experience: Don't be fooled by the negative reviews. This hotel is *exquisite*. Grand, stately rooms, gorgeous furnishings, spectacular views, service with a friendly, personal touch... It seems some reviewers are unable to appreciate timeless beauty. The hotel has the feel of a French chateau, and I simply can't recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Stayed here as part of a large group for a family get together. From arrival to departure we felt welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were polite, accommodating and very helpful! A prime example of going above and beyond your job role from the beauticians providing handy information about ways to benefit from our stay following our treatment such as best exercise classes to try that would help our now relaxed muscles loosen further, to the restaurant staff that ensured we had all our meals together in a private dining room and had good fun with us too. They helped make organising little touches such as my sisters birthday cake and even supplied some champagne flutes so we could cheekily have a drop of her birthday prosecco she'd been given for a toast. The bar staff made me alcohol free cocktails even though they weren't on the menu. The chefs cooked our food beautifully and we loved the fresh and local produce. They accommodated any allergies or any requests to slightly change a dish to allow for any dislikes. The menu was inventive and we loved the different dishes. The reception staff helped co-ordinate our dinner preorders and answer any questions we had and dealt with any queries promptly. Even though we were only staying for two nights by the time we left it felt like we knew the staff and them us, it was all very personal. The building is charming with its quirky but tasteful decor and the rooms were tastefully done, clean and had everything you'd need and more. All of this within a stunning setting and grounds so close to Bath city centre and with plenty of scenic national trust walks near by there is loads to explore if you can drag yourself away from the facilities and classes at the country club. The only criticisms if I'm to be particularly nit picky is the sauna being downstairs off the changing room rather than within the pool area meant that we never used it because we didn't want to do the walk to and from. Areas that are set up to provide water need to be checked more often to ensure the jugs and glasses are replenished. The windows/doors around the pool and pool surroundings could be cleaner but by no means are they dirty! Staff on the country club reception need to remember to give clients robes and flip flops when they check in for treatments. The menu being the same for two nights did work but we would have preferred to have had a different menu for the second evening. These really are such small things that by no means caused any inconvenience but just little tweaks. Thank you to all the staff for such an enjoyable stay!!

Fantastic experience: Combe Grove Hotel and Spa is one of the best dog-friendly hotels we have ever stayed at. I couldn't wait to write this review only 2 hours after we checked in :) We brought Henry our husky with us and we were welcomed by the lovely reception staff and generous dog-friendly kit for Henry which includes a massive dog bed, food and water bowls, toilet bags and towels for Henry only for £15 more! Me and my partner just finished using the gym in the club, the gym is well equipped with complimentary towels and water. The room itself is beautifully refurbished with a lovely and bright bathroom with shower. The view outside the room is very nice, overlooking down the hill. There are plenty of walks to go on with Henry here. I would definitely be coming back to Combe Grove with Henry!
