PureGym Bristol Eastgate

Positive experience: Good gym with a good range of equipment. Still surprised there are no cleaning stations installed! There is only one in the spin studio which often runs out of blue roll. It's off putting seeing numbers of 160+ and up to 100+ at 9pm on weeknights. Best times to go are weekends and very early mornings to get through workouts with no hassle. This seems to be the case with most gyms due to over subscriptions and no cap on the number of attendants at any one time.

Positive experience: Edit: I’ve had to take off a star due to how ridiculously packed the gym gets at peak times, and there still isn’t anything to wipe down the equipment like at other gyms. Come on guys it’s not difficult, just get some spray and blue roll like all your other gyms. There are loads of other reviews saying the same thing. Pros: New equipment, loads of squat racks (9+), a few different benches. Nice new showers / lockers. Parking outside. Cons: Split over 2 levels, feels a bit crowded. No where near as much space as the previous PureGym at Barrow Road (which this gym is apparently 'replacing' so I'm comparing them). Bit of a weird location unless you drive or live near. Seems to be packed with students. Overall decent gym, but feels more crowded than Barrow Road.

Fantastic experience: I rarely leave reviews, but was shocked to see all these bad reviews for this gym! People complaining about the location, I don't it's fair to leave bad reviews for that. It's also very subjective. Its an amazing location for me, my previous closest gym being twice as far in Easton and was not a nice gym! I was welcomed and shown around, everyone has been very friendly and helpful. Opening a new place will always take some time for the cogs to turn smoothly, and it's crazy that to me that people leave bad reviews after a one off experience which was likely an anomaly! It says more about the reviewer than the place With all that said, the gym is great! It's big and spacious and bright, all new equipment. The studio area is mostly empty outside of classes and I use it for stretching, it's great to have a whole room to yourself. I love it! My only gripe would be the music, but that's because I listen to my own on headphones. I find the music too loud, and pretty awful. But then again that's modern pop music for you! I recommend this place
