Negative experience: Extremely disappointing and negative experience due to poor communication and misleading instructions on cancellation. They advertise themselves as a gym with flexible membership. This is NOT true! Unlike most gyms, cancelling direct debit and giving around a weeks notice doesn't stop your membership. They make a lot of hassle when a customer tries to cancel membership. As a first time potential customer I spoke personally to one of the owners who helped arrange a deal for a membership with me. He told me that I would get one free session with a personal trainer as part of the deal but in the months that I had the membership, This did not happen even after following up on the issue. When arranging the deal, the owner also specifically said that since I am a student and would be quite busy, I would only need to give a short notice of around a week or two to pause or cancel my membership. However as I went to pause my membership with around two and a half weeks notice, I got declined. I was told that I need a full paid month's notice before pausing the membership. Understandably I was quite aggravated since this was different to what I was told. I then tried to permanently cancel the membership later on, but was once again told that three and a half weeks notice was not enough. They said that I needed another full paid month's notice to cancel the membership as well. This meant that overall I paid for three months of membership during which I was unable to even go to the gym. I understand that each gym may have different protocols for pausing or cancellation but the disparity between what I was told personally by the owner, which was one of the main reasons I agreed after lots of cajoling to sign the contract, and what I was told afterwards is frankly appalling. Since I made the agreement with the owner I asked to get in touch with him to help clarify but he was seemingly always unreachable. I was told that the staff didn't have any number or email to contact him which I find highly unbelievable. There was extremely poor communication and an overall incompetence as I was forced to keep chasing up the issue again and again with nothing being done to resolve it, meaning that the overdue fees kept stacking up. In fact I was still receiving emails about payment even after finally completing the cancellation weeks before.

Fantastic experience: Have only been a member for a month. But what a refreshing change from my previous GYM down the road. A great selection of kit. Plenty of spinning bikes and classes. But most importantly everyone is friendly. Really great gym that got my mojo back.

Fantastic experience: I joined recently and am very impressed with all aspects of this gym. The staff, in particular Sammie and Umez are professional and so friendly and helpful. I am recovering from an illness and both Sammie and Umez listened carefully to my needs and limitations and patiently showed me the equipment, correct usage and what I could expect to achieve. The other gym users are friendly and helpful which really helps. The place is spotless and very Covid aware. I am so glad I joined and can already see progress. If you have been considering joining a gym but are unsure then rest assured that this is the place to go. There are excellent changing rooms, lockers, free parking and a bike rack just outside the door. It feels safe and welcoming and I am already greeted by name as I enter. It really does deserve five stars.

Positive experience: Since the new owners took this over from Simply Gym, it's VERY much improved. Ambient lighting, new paint on walls, inspirational quotes and pictures, TV's, and a very welcome change of audio system mean that it feels much more worth the money. The fees have gone up, and not by a small amount either. Simply ran a monthly at £17 but the equivalent now is £25; I do however feel it's worth it. The staff are much more approachable now that they also have an office area, rather than being perched on a table in the gym. Most equipment remains the same but much has also been added, including an entire are devoted to legs! (the old class room) In the free weight area we've also now got a complete new set of dumbells. In the general machine are there's plenty of equipment in a better arrangement now so that space is being used efficiently. Unfortunately they still run Radio 1 Extra most days which isn't the sort of music I like but can't have everything. Generally the gym definitely has a much more prominent social element to it than anywhere else I've been. During busy periods it can feel like groups of 3-4 guys are literally taking up half the gym with their personal banter session but maybe I'm just being a billy no mates there... Go during a quiet time and you don't get that. The changing rooms have had a few improvements made but, for someone new coming in, especially if they've come from a new modern gym, they will notice roughness around the edges that the licks of paint can't cover. That said, they've probably also come from paying at least £10 a month more too! 4/5 overall. Some great improvements recently, please keep it up!!
