The Quays Swimming & Diving Complex

Fantastic experience: I loved it the gym specialist are always there to help and I have a medical condition which can sometimes cause a problem but they said I could book a meeting with the medical fitness trainer and he gave me my own schedule to follow to coordinate to my SVT. The people there so nice as well and the coustermers are soo nice.

Fantastic experience: Great venue! Swimming Pool is great and its a decent Group Ex timetable - nice spin bikes too. Not bad membership prices, would recommend a visit.

Fantastic experience: Visited with a view to rejoining since lockdown. Excellent facilities and as good as any private club I've been a member of. As a member you will also get free parking which is within easy walking distance in to the Town Centre.

Fantastic experience: Used the quays gym many times over the years, this time I was able to sign up for a suitable membership online before going, which I preferred, just scan the barcode on your phone to access the gym, I visited at 7pm Friday and 8:30 am Saturday and both times had a very quiet vibe maybe 5 other users both times, there didn’t seem to be loads of staff working then either but that may have been due to the times I attended and I didn’t have any need for them personally. The gym is suitably equipped with elliptical and Adaptive motion trainers, rowing machines, a variety of bikes including recumbent and rowing machines also plenty of treadmills. There is air conditioning and tv screens with popular channels (silent but subtitles on) the background music was not too loud and plenty of notices requesting users to use headphones, I also noticed some of the machines had air-conditioning built in. The mirrored weights area is sectioned off slightly and I didn’t need to go there during my visits. There are also sit down weight machines for all the various muscle groups and another sectioned off mirrored area for balance, stretching and kettlebell exercises. You can fill your water bottle from the various drinking fountains provided, if you require use of a locker remember to bring a decent mini padlock as they are not coin operated. Monday I attended at 11 and the gym was a bit busier and the staff ratio higher. All the staff I spoke to were very pleasant and knowledgeable. I cannot give an up-to-date review of the changing facilities and shower room as I did not use these as I live close by and had no need for them I remember them always being clean and well laid out though and there is a disabled changing cabin too

Fantastic experience: Came in for a day pass, forgot my towel so Ryan very kindly lent me one! This meant not only could I use the gym that has everything you need, but I also used the sauna which was really nice and hot and the steam room which had a great amount of steam! Will be coming back when I’m next down. Thanks guys, great customer service and great facilities.

Fantastic experience: Best pool we've been for a while, warm and not too busy. Kids had a great time (6-10yrs )you do need to take your own padlock for the lockers. We didn't know this so had to buy one at £5 extra. Other than that we will be goin again

Fantastic experience: my last visit here!!! yes!!! was about two thousand and three!!!???!!! maybe!!! hoping they'd never close something like this in our city!!! phew!!! still wasn't!!! i took an aqua aerobics class late one night!!! kind of didn't have the concentration to keep it up due to extreme poisoning issues in me!!! i thought i really saw tom daley though!!! diving off the highest board there!!! training for the olympics maybe!!!

Fantastic experience: The instructors are great. Take it from someone who has an unhealthy fear of water . I feel comfortable and relaxed in the water after just two classes.

Positive experience: Review is only for lane swimming as that's all I do. You get a parking pass with the swimming subscription for up to 3 hours in their car park. Clean changing rooms, take your own locks, no "insert £1" lockers. Swimming pool is generally not too busy at 8-9PM. Pool itself is clean and has defined lanes for speeds, lifeguards are good for a chat too! Very friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Amazing swimming teachers!! Go here regularly. Two slides, hot tub two pools and diving. Can also have a sauna and steam for a few extra pounds and there is a gym on site. Prices are reasonable too

Fantastic experience: Went to watch our grandaughter's diving class. She's a newbie but some of the other classes show the diving talent that's coming through. Well organised there's even a decent coffee shop on site.

Fantastic experience: Joined this gym since it opened up, I only use it for swimming but reception staff are always kind, happy and friendly. Changing rooms are clean, pool is clean. No complaints

Fantastic experience: Thank you Active Nation for providing cheaper priced SEN swimming at the Quays. My boys both love their weekly hour long swim sessions and they have been a god send during the summer holidays. The instructor is Brilliant with all the children and everyone has a great time and are making improvements in their swimming. Changing rooms are lovely and clean. There's a fun children's pool with slides and flume, a bigger pool and a pool for diving, with numerous boards. Lovely cafe that over looks the children's pool and a good selection of swimming costumes, goggles and floats at reception.

Fantastic experience: Such a fantastic place , I came to swim on Sunday with my husband and 3 boys. It is such a safe pool , I have 1 boy that still cannot swim well but with the way the life guards are I felt safe enough to allow him a bit more freedom. When we were on the flumes the staff were friendly but stood thier ground on the rules. There were a few adults that I noticed giving the life guards a hard time because they were trying to use the slide with a small child on thier laps , even though these men were really nasty and calling the life guard names he didn't back down on the safety of the child and didn't raise his voice he just calmly stated that the rules were clearly sign posted for the safety of all users. I was so impressed. Your staff really are fantastic which makes swimming here a pleasure.

Fantastic experience: We found this place by accident and was pleasantly surprised. Good facilities, water slide two pools and a really nice cafe with outside seating.

Fantastic experience: A great cardio aqua class led by Karen. Lots of varied activity to brilliant music. The time flew by. Be sure to book in advance or you might be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Great pool nice temperature 2pm Saturday afternoon when I went was not too busy so was able to Lane swim for an hour no problem, showers where hot & changing rooms clean with plenty of lockers. A little expensive at nearly £7 a swim.

Fantastic experience: I regularly use the quays to go swimming, clean changing rooms and lifeguards that keep everyone in order. Not sure I like the new lockers where you either have to bring your own lock or hire one rather than using £1 coin. Good range of activities on offer.

Fantastic experience: I think that the guays is a great place to have a family day at . The staff are really kind and if you need any help gust talk to them . They will chear you up if you are having a bad day

Fantastic experience: Great swimming pool. I went there yesterday with my family. I had a great swim, so did my 2 and a half bro. He almost drowned 3 times.
