Project Spartan: Opinions

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Project Spartan for 5 years now. It’s not a gym but a brotherhood of likeminded men trying to be the best version of themselves they can be. I have made some lifelong friends and in over 30 years of being in and out of gyms have never found anything quite like it. It’s such a big part of my life now that I could never imagine being anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: While I’ve had to take a break from Spartan due to work commitments, it was / has been a great experience and unlike anything else I’ve experienced in the ‘gym’ world. The owner Ben is hands on and his enthusiasm is infectious (even if his eclectic taste in music may be questionable ) , the coaches offer the perfect balance of motivation and humour and the camaraderie amongst the ‘brotherhood’ makes you actually want to go and keeps you accountable (even on those days where you’d have skipped a ‘normal’ gym). It’s hard to describe exactly what Spartan is (collective personal training / group workout sessions / healthy lifestyle club) but whatever it is, it’s brilliant! I loved the Just Turn Up (JTU) ethos as, as long as you can drag yourself to the coliseum, the coaches will make sure it’s worth your while! It’s unique and awesome, so if you’re looking to get in shape (both body and mind), I’d argue that there’s no place better.

Fantastic experience: Professional training and all levels of fitness supported. Great group and team. No ego's and great community support. I've been motivated, pushed hard and two months in seeing obvious results in weight loss and conditioning. I use to gym regularly but the results I've had though Spartan have surpassed anything I've done on my own in the gym.

Fantastic experience: When I first started with Spartan, 6 months before the first Lockdown, I was 19 Stone. Within those 6 months I lost 2 stone all down to Spartan. They really gave me the motivation to lose that weight and my strength went right up too. You’re training with a great bunch of lads who are there to help each other which really motivates you. Spartan is a very professional outfit but with great banter to go with it. 5 stars from me

Fantastic experience: I have been at Spartan for few years, the program has evolved massively, its far better than any class or gym you will go to. it has has positive impact on my physical and metal health

Fantastic experience: Disclaimer: I hate exercise with a burning passion. My hatred for exercise could actually burn calories in its own right, removing the need for exercise entirely. Project Spartan is helping me find a much better relationship with exercise and with myself. I'm 3 weeks in with the T28 programme. Going in, I hadn't done any real exercise in 2 years bar the odd cycle up the seafront. Constantly plagued by injuries and ailing mental health, I've just never been able to motivate myself for extended periods. The in-depth nutrition focus, brutal but understanding sessions, and camaraderie is already having a huge impact. I've lost a stone in 3 weeks and feel stronger and more present in my day to day life. I've finally found a program worth sticking with and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't had much success with gyms. My enthusiasm always withered after a month or so. An extensive collection of branded towels and other sign-up 'freebies' bear testimony to this. Then I saw the Facebook advert for Project Spartan. It looked really interesting. Over the next six months I kept going back to their page, trying to puck up the courage to join up. Finally I did. The best decision. Project Spartan isn't a gym. It's a community. A community of like minded people who want to get fit, look better and live longer. It's not a place for gym bunnies. I've been attending 3 times a week for almost 2 years. Which still astonishes me. During lockdown, Project Spartan went online, of which I did 4 sessions a week - they helped me keep physically and mentally healthy. I'm fitter, a little bit trimmer, and I can't foresee a time when I'm not part of the Project Spartan community.

Fantastic experience: I joined Project Spartan over 4 years ago now and it is the best decision I’ve ever made. As well as becoming a fitter, healthier and happier version of myself, I’ve met some fantastic people and made some friends for life. The support and encouragement you get from each and every other member of this brotherhood is second to none. The coaching is always top class and they really know there stuff from technique, nutrition and well being. We have had many social events too including curry nights, golf days, Spartan races, a trip up Mount Snowden in Wales and more...If you are considering joining Project Spartan I would wholeheartedly recommend you fill in that application without delay. It’ll be one of the best decisions you will make.

Fantastic experience: Just back from my 1st Coliseum visit since lockdown started. James met us with the rules, regs and training plan, very reassuring. A nice start back, but the sledge was still as daunting. After 4 months of excellent zoom camps, it was really good getting back. A huge thank you to Ben for getting me through the zoom sessions and to James for his support throughout and the catch up chat today. Looking forward to Thursday already. Top job guys JTU

Fantastic experience: This is more than a gym. It’s a community of like minded people who want to take control of their lives & fitness. Every coach knows your individual level of fitness and pushes you to grow and get better. This is truly a life changing business. I can’t recommend Project Spartan highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Amazing facility with great trainers and an amazing crowd of people. Always feel top of the world when I finish a session and the pump is incredible! The best possible post lockdown treatment for anyone who missed working out and socialising over the last 18 months!

Fantastic experience: The guys have created a great environment where you feel welcome from the minute you walk in the door, you will be encouraged to leave all your stresses at the door and give everything with the results speaking for themselves.

Fantastic experience: I was really in two minds before I took the plunge and joined the project. I'm so glad that I made the right decision and joined this amazing brotherhood. In 5 weeks I've lost 7cm off my waist and a stone in weight. You never feel out of place, out of your depth or very far from a friendly word of encouragement. If you hate the normal gym experience, then this is absolutely for you.

Fantastic experience: Project Spartan has changed my life positively. My health physically and mentally and how I look has been transformed after Joining the gym. If you are looking to transform your life, health, and look then do not hesitate to join. The community that we have at the Coliseum is not easy to find anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of Project Spartan for over 4 years and what it has given me in terms of health, mental wellbeing and good friends is immeasureable. When I joined I was in a physical slump, working in London, eating badly and feeling rubbish about myself. Spartan has given me the structure to change my lifelong habits with a supportive team who are always willing to help find a way to accommodate the realities of life like injuries etc. Highly recommended. "A year from now you'll wish you started today"

Fantastic experience: The best gym and fitness experience bar none. I've always hated public gyms but always wanted to get properly fit. Spartan is the only fitness programme I've ever stuck with - 2 and a half years and counting now. 2+ stone lighter and kept it off and fitter than I've ever been at nearly 40! A great bunch of lads to train with, no egos, really welcoming and accommodating of everyone. Different exercise programme each week created by the coaches who are there to help you out with form and motivation. Can't recommend the programme highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Positive: Professionalism A really good gym, no in fact it’s way more than that , your looked after ,everyone helps you , the training is spot on and it’s one big family. If u want help and are a bit scared by a big gym this is for you

Fantastic experience: I’m usually very nervous when joining gyms and find myself going once or twice and never again. However, then I found Project Spartan and all that changed. The concept is completely different to any other, the guidance and instruction from the coaches is second-to-none and all the members I work out with are so welcoming and encouraging. I felt very comfortable that men and women sessions are separate and all the female members are of all abilities, shapes and sizes. If you’re thinking of joining a gym then you won’t be disappointed with joining the Collisium.

Fantastic experience: Amazing strength and body conditioning sessions in a fun but motivated and determined group environment with like minded people. Top quality, professional, knowledgable and inspiring coaches/trainers who focus on the whole of you, mentally and physically and bring out the best in you. Love it!! ❤️

Fantastic experience: Positive: Quality If you are looking to get your mind and body in order this is the place. Fantastic coaching, nutritional programme and group coaching gets you motivated. I'd been going to gyms for years and not really seen results - 6 months @spartan different game.

Fantastic experience: I signed up for the 28day challenge and cannot recommend Project Spartan enough. My induction was very in-depth and James listened to my body/fitness concerns and goals and then produced a plan to achieve them. Both the members and trainers are all very friendly, the training sessions are hard but fun and everyone works at their own pace - there is no embarrassment or comparing yourselves to others as everyone on their own journey. I am now 3 weeks in and seeing results which motivates me to push harder. If your thinking to join then please please do, you won’t be disappointed!
