Nuffield Health Edinburgh Omni Fitness & Wellbeing Gym

Fantastic experience: Now that the winter is here and darkness falls way before I finish work, running outdoors isn’t as practical as it was in the lighter months. But I do like to keep fit regardless of the time of year, which is why I go to Virgin Active at the Omni Centre. Virgin is a really friendly gym, with fantastic facilities. A vast, open space with lots of cardio equipment means that even when the gym is at its busiest you’ll never need to queue for a running machine. There’s a large free-weights area, which isn’t in any way intimidating and has a nice mix of both men and women. Virgin also has a large communal pool. The steam room facilities are located in the respective changing rooms and it also has a spa with an extensive list of treatments, and a café area, which does a selection of healthy foods. The facilities at Virgin are really impressive, the staff are great and its city centre location make it a really great gym and one that I would thoroughly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Been a member at this gym for several years now and I can safely say in terms of facilities/affordability/convenience it’s the best gym in Edinburgh hands down. Spacious bright and open feel to the gym with ample space between cardio/machine and free weight sections. The pool is extremely relaxing. Having the 4 hours free parking on weekdays is also a massive plus point. The staff are all excellent especially the front of house staff who always strive to go the extra mile for members and are always on hand to assist and help with any issues and queries that may arise. Great club.

Fantastic experience: Good value for money, busy vibrant place full of people exercising and not sitting on their phones. Probably the best equipped gym in the city, lots of stations and squat racks etc.. Changing rooms are a bit tired , but the free 4 hours at a time parking in the Omni is also a huge perk. One of the best things about the place is definitely the staff - from start to finish they are polite, fun and helpful- having been a victim of David Lloyd for years it’s such a refreshing change.

Fantastic experience: I'm a member of another Nuffield Health gym but love using this centre when i'm staying nearby. Great 25m pool & jacuzzi, as well as clean and spacious gym & changing rooms.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, lots of space. Appreciate the deadlift platforms and several squat racks. The choice of free weights and kettelbells is also great. Not to mention jacuzzi and steam room

Fantastic experience: Nuffield has been one of my favourites gyms as the staff are super friendly and helpful with any problems you may have and even help with fitness elements to your workout. The equipment is state of the art and very well presented. There is also a swimming pool, sauna, steam room as well which are amazing. Overall the the place is always clean and a joy to be in. I highly recommend this gym

Positive experience: I like the structure of having classes but not of the booking system which is broken and a nightmare. You need to book 8 days in advance between 7 am and 10 am, after which it gets booked up and you go on a waiting list. Most deal with restrictions by booking everything they can see - then deciding on the day if they can be bothered going or not - if not cancel up to 30 mins if class starting. Those on the waiting list are then emailed - often at short notice - and you dont notice your email 3 times you are banned for a few weeks. The whole thing is just too much like hard work if you ask me. the plus compared to other gyms is you don’t get cancellation fees. Thing is why have a booking system at all?! It just makes what used to be a relaxing experience into one of stress and discipline. I much preferred how it was originally - you turned up - first come first serve. If you were late you were less likely to get a spot. They should at least reserve some spots as walk ins for folks like me who travel and don’t always know what they are doing in 8 days. I mean there are spots anyway on each class with no shows so why not offer them to those who are there and want a walk in. The only reason first come first serve wouldn’t work was if they were over capacity but still taking on the new members - or maybe this is the reason the booking system doesn’t work - either that or the booking phycology it promotes of overbooking then cancelling makes it appear like they over capacity.

Fantastic experience: I'm here regularly and it's a great gym. Staff are all super friendly, pool is incredible (very calming!) and all the users are keeping to the covid guidelines which make it feel very safe and welcoming. Plus a towel service! 100% the best money I spend each month.

Fantastic experience: Plenty of space and equipment to go round even with restrictions in place, especially if you avoid peak times. Friendly and helpful staff. Constant cleaning can be seen happening. Looking forward to other facilities opening such as sauna when it is safe to do so and advised by government. Videos available online were useful on returning to the gym to make social distancing guidelines easy to understand

Fantastic experience: Beautiful, neat and well equipped gym floor. It has a sona, Jacuzzi and steam room as well and all in a good condition. If you haven't been I definitely recommend trying it out.

Fantastic experience: Definitely the best gym in the world. Best gym facilities, generally talking there is lots of space; in the pool, in the steamer room, in the sauna and in the gym. There are also enough box bags, mats and weights available. It’s a very good gym, I like it.

There's also a pool of you're fancy of swimming and a jacuzzi. That's pretty much it the facility is really clean and the staff is quite friendly too so far the price might seem high but with the things you get I can't complain.

Fantastic experience: Staff are always amazing! They make you feel at home and take the scariness away that you can sometimes feel when going to the gym! The facilities are excellent. It has something for everyone and the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are so relaxing.

Fantastic experience: Great Gym,the facility is dislocated into two levels,one of the levels guest a beautiful pool with hydro massage. Staff very professional and friendly,it might look like it is quite expensive,butabsolutely worthed for the service provided. Impressed!

There are three studios for various classes. The place has been recently refurbished. Swimming pool, sauna and changing room is nice and clean. Very friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. It saved my body from descending into overweight, cellulite ridden chaos. They have wide selection of classes for everyone, they are open since the early morning till late at night (so your working hours are no excuse) and apart from the wide range of machines they have sauna, steam room, swimming pool and hot tub. The trainers there are professional, friendly and ready to address your training needs. At the top of all that goodness you will get health assessments (health MOT) and training amd dietary advice even if personal trainer is out of your budget. I can't recommend it enough.

Fantastic experience: Could not imagine better gym. All the facilities you can think of are on site, personal trainers are always visible and ready to give you advice. The whole staff is very friendly and their customers service skills are immaculate. They have plenty of classes and advancement levels. Highly recommend and will definitely stay with this gym.
