One Spa

Fantastic experience: We spa, you spa, I spa! Technically it's spa-aaaah which is the gentle outward breath when you settle into the rooftop hydro pool. Quite possibly on a sunny afternoon one of the best things you can do for your soul in Edinburgh. Your shoulders start to relax and you suddenly realise how much tension you'd been holding there as it slowly slides away. The staff are super friendly and helpful (even rolling up their trousers and using a fishing pole to retrieve lost glasses from the hydro pool, yes I am a muppet!). There's an amazing selection of sauna, thermal rooms etc, all stimulating the senses with smell, sight, heat and steam. The spa treatments are amazing for making you feel pampered and with prices starting at £40 for a head massage there's something to suit all budgets. And with all spa treatments you get full use of all the facilities, so make sure you leave plenty of time for that and you'll always get your money's worth. Can't recommend this enough!

Fantastic experience: My mum and I decided to try out Escape at One while staying at the Sheraton. Guests get discounted entry and it includes use of the thermal suite and hydro therapy roof pool. It really is a little hidden gem in Edinburgh. On arrival the staff are very friendly a welcoming. The changing facilities are very well laid out and clean. The thermal suite is incredible. There are 13 different stages of hot and cold treatments to try out and the place is so relaxing. You also get use of the hydro therapy rooftop pool which is amazing, even on a cold winter day in Edinburgh. I would definitely recommend treating yourself to this little slice of luxury!

Fantastic experience: In short, the rooftop hydro pool is to die for! I would highly recommend the place for anyone wishing to unwind in a beautiful, stylish environment, while enjoying some great views. It's also great to choose from a number of saunas :) The staff is friendly and professional, the changing rooms are tidy and well equipped with hairdryers and ghd-s for the ladies. We had a great time there and will definitely visit again in the future.

Fantastic experience: I love this place! I thought that being a member would make it less special but it's simply not the case. There are 5 different steam rooms, a beautiful and amazing outdoor jacuzzi - as well as a 19m swimming pool. As a member, it includes access to all these places as well as a reasonably hi-tech gym with on hand trainers (which can be booked in to help you with your fitness programme). Highly recommended - for a membership, for a day - whatever!

Fantastic experience: I was treated to a full body massage and a heavenly day at One Spa. The staff were lovely and the massage excellent (I had forgotten what it was like to have de-stressed muscles, my shoulders finally relaxed enough to reveal my neck!). The Thermal Suite has something for everyone or everything for anyone spa-inclined. It includes a Hammam; an "Aroma Grotto" (aromatherapy and herb-scented steam room); a classic Rock Sauna; a "Bio Sauna" (combination of heat and humidity infused with an orange essence with coloured lights); a Laconium (dry-heat room with warm floor and benches); various showers (eg. cold mist, scented, tropical rain) and the amazing "Tepidarium" which consists of individual heated stone couches (more comfortable than they sound, I promise). There is also a large indoor pool for lap swimming and then another heated pool with spa bubble sections which is half inside and half outside. It is fairly expensive at £70 for entry but there are lots of special offers going on (mine was free entry with a spa treatment) and it made a lovely lovely gift.

Fantastic experience: Rooftop pool! Ahem, now that I've got that out of my system... yes, One Spa has a rooftop pool, where you can luxuriate in the warm water, while steam rises all about you and opposite, people sit hard at work in their offices! I was once in this pool when snow started falling and it felt absolutely magical. So, in short, I love this pool! Inside the spa, you have a 'Thermal Suite' with tiled rooms of different temperatures and varying scents. The saunas, complete with twinkly lights, are brilliantly toasty, while the Aroma Grotto (which sometimes smells of lavender or eucalyptus) is comfortably temperate so you can stay for a bit longer. If you've overdone it (and gone bright red from too much sauna time) there's also fog and scented tropical rain showers as well as a big thing of ice. This my go-to (when I can afford it) place to chill out and catch-up with friends.

Fantastic experience: Really really good and really really expensive, but once in a while it's definitely worth it. Especially the thermal area with lots of saunas will help your relax and chill completely! There are also drinking water fountains around which is really convenient!

Fantastic experience: Outdoor thermal pool is great, recommended especially in the evening. Saunas were a bit on the colder side, even the 80-90°C one was only at 70°C when I visited.

Fantastic experience: Have been here a few times over the last 6 months and it's been great to see this place get back on its feet again after a slow reopening post lockdown and a few teething issues. It's now easier to book appointments and whilst they are busy you generally no longer need to book them a month (or two) in advance. The therapists are superb and facilities are really excellent, it's a lovely place to visit.

Fantastic experience: We came for the escape at one experience and couldn't be more happy that we did. There were so many different hot room & sauna experiences. My absolute favourite was the Laconium. It had such a chill vibe, with really cool tiling and lights that look like a canopy of stars. I could have stayed there for hours.

Fantastic experience: Great facility and extremely clean. The hydropool, saunas, and steam rooms were definitely worth spending my limited vacation hours and each one provided its own sense of relaxation. I booked a hotel suit so it was included with my booking and went my last 2 days of stay. Originally I was going to give it 4-stars due to mediocre service by two of the girls on day 1, but Katie's service on day 2 bumped it back up to 5. There wasn't much interaction, but she was very helpful, kind, and genuine in that time(give this girl a raise). Highly recommended facility and would go again if I return to Edinburgh.

It was quite emotional to remind myself that im not just a mother, a house keeper, taxi driver etc. but a human being, a woman. And even though i was not 100% happy with my treatment I had the most amazing customer service from the manager at reception. That actually made me feel really special and emotional not sure why. thank you and see you again next month!will definitely recommend this place to others...(wish the water in the hydrapool was a bit warmer though on a cold, windy day like today)...

Lots of different rooms and the outdoor rooftop hydropool is immense - especially on a day when the water is really hot! The entire team go out their way to be great hosts and keep the place nice and clean. Love this wee haven in the city!!!

Fantastic experience: Loved our spa day package! The aromatherapy massage was very relaxing and the hydrotherapy suite was amazing. Some of the rooms were out of order which was unfortunate but the customer service we received to help us was great. We never had to complain, they were very proactive in providing compensation (2 guest passes to come back at a different time). We will definitely be coming back to use the full facilities!

Fantastic experience: Really incredible place. Just walking in the smell starts to relax you. The facilities are wonderful and the treatments even better. Everything is done at a slower pace, so don't go in a rush. Make sure you ask for a tour when you first get there as you will miss things you should enjoy otherwise. Fantastic experience: I really love to come here. Although I wouldn't recommend it as a budget option (!), for me there is plenty of value on offer. Customer service is excellent, there are plenty of facilities to choose from and it is rarely too busy.

Fantastic experience: If this place was rated out of 100 We would give it 100! So many relaxing rooms to use, showers were a favourite and it would have been a travesty to miss them! Roof top pool/whirlpool lovely and warm, invigorating, and very relaxing, especially at night when the stars shone down and the pool lights changed colour constantly. Lots of treatments on offer I recommend a spa day package. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Certainly one of the best spa I’ve been to. I’ve been a member for months now and I absolutely love it. The recent refurbishment gave this little extra touch. The new steam room is fantastic and still obsessed with the rooftop/outdoor hydro pool. The only negative note is the showers - refurbishment needed - but I’m sure that it is already something that’s planned. Lovely staff and always very helpful. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Possibly one of the best spa's I've ever been to. The perfect Christmas present to ourselves, we went for packages that allowed us to stay all day. You'll loose all sense of time during the treatment and found the morning a great time to start. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Fantastic experience: Holy smokes. We were here when it was snowing, which made the outside pool fun but quite cold. There are 2 kinds of saunas, 2 steam rooms, and 2 hot stone bed relaxation areas. We went back and forth to them all, and to the outdoor pool to cool off. It says you have 3 hours, but we stayed like 3.5 hours and it was not a problem. I don't know how they would regulate it anyway. The showers were fantastic, with their own spa products which smell earthy and refreshing. Really good spa.

Fantastic experience: The better spa in Edinburgh but there isn't a whole lot of competition within the actual city either. The price can seem a bit steep but it is worth it. The locker rooms are nice and have what you need. Robes and towels are fluffy - a huge spa must! While the roof top whirl pool is lovely, it faces a boring office building. Not that the spa can help it and it is right in the middle of the city.. but can be distracting relaxation-wise. Quite a few different steam rooms to choose from, the one to note is the scented steam room. The scents are relaxing ones like jasmine, eucalyptus.. but can be a bit strong if you are sensitive but it is fine for me personally. There are also some cozy places to lay about between soaks, rooms or treatments. I've been on day passes but I've enjoyed it enough to consider a membership. The food at the cafe is pretty sound too!
