Fantastic experience: If you want a great gym + swim facility in Gloucester this is it. They also have racquetball and workout classes and a sauna but I can’t speak to those as I stick to the gym/pool. You can rent lockers for £1 but you also get the £1 back when you put the key back, so it’s effectively free but you need to bring a pound coin. As someone who doesn’t like to carry my gym bag around but wants to quickly get ready at the gym this is great. The swimming times are a bit scattered for adults, so do check the website. The pool is clean without smelling of chlorine, and is Olympic length. In the summer especially in afternoons/evenings it gets crowded and you can end up tailgating people in the lap lane. The only other thing that isn’t great is how some of the kids in the pool/locker room in the afternoon can be very loud and obnoxious. Due to this I would recommend going in the early morning if you’re looking for a calmer workout experience, I’ve found it’s less busy overall. The gym is great - the trainers are all quite friendly and can give advice if needed. The equipment is overall in really good condition and there’s enough machines and weights for everyone. Also no one’s ever bothered me/tried to strike up a conversation mid-workout or give unsolicited advice which, as a woman, I appreciate. (There is an all women gym as well…I’ve never used it as the mixed one works just fine). Overall, I can strongly recommend GL1 - I’ve always found the staff to be respectful and efficient. The facilities are reasonably up to date (not flashy though) and clean. The prices are decent as well for what you’re getting, especially if you get the intro or multi month membership.

Fantastic experience: Went to GL1 for Neville Gra/4/22, the staff did him proud. I worked at the old GL1 as a barmaid. GL1 is a great place to work, visit, workout, and enjoy. Highly recommended GL1, I often recommend to friends.

Fantastic experience: Took my daughter and she loved it in the Tad pool. Pool was heated and clean, jets were bubbling and toddlers all having a turn on the slide. Fun little activity to pass an hour away. Changing rooms were clean, with lots of room to get changed. Only down side is you have to pay to park your car, which is ridiculous and over priced for an 1hour stay. might as well pay a membership at a gym and get a monthly pass and parking all included. Other then that it was a good time of actively. So will rate it a 5 star. Staff were friendly also.

Fantastic experience: Feels well managed in lockdown, been for a swim twice since the reopening. Queues are well spaced, all booking online (with good availability in mornings, evenings and weekends). Turn up, get changed, swim , change go. Showers available for a rinse, some lockers available. Everything you NEED and no more.

Fantastic experience: Perfect!! Staff on the ball. Clear signage to maintain social distancing. Cleaner disinfecting surfaces constantly. My granddaughter really enjoyed enjoyed her swimming lesson given professionally as always. Restrictions did not spoil the experience for her.

Fantastic experience: My membership covers Gym Fitness classes Individual programmes Spa, Sauna, Steam room and jacuzzi. Swimming pools Badminton courts Squash courts Table tennis. I like GL1 because I am able to achieve a healthy lifestyle using the above facilities. Some times I feel like hitting the weights in the gym or other times I may participate in a fitness class. Examples are Yoga/pilates/ core fit/ spinning / and a lot more. I also enjoy relaxing in the marine spa just to unwind. I recommend it to everyone from young to mature . Any race gender everyone is made to feel welcomed at GL1. The staff are amazing and very knowledgeable. Definitely worth popping down and having a chat with them especially now summer is kicking in.

Fantastic experience: Always great. The staff are friendly most of the time, I tend to go late evening to fit around work and sometimes things seem to be a little slack. But the pool is wonderful and theres always a good atmosphere. I do lane swimming but there's so much on offer. Kids classes, the gym, an inflatable course, court hire.

Fantastic experience: Love taking the kids to lunar a great way for them to burn off some energy only problem is when obviously making a family booking with 4+ children and adults the cost almost doesn't seem worth the time limit on it but for smaller families with 1 or 2 children it's great but regardless I will continue to take my children as they always really enjoy it

Fantastic experience: Toddler World at GL1 was ace. Better than soft play. My 19 month old was happy playing with trikes, toys, etc for nearly two hours.

Fantastic experience: It's reasonable sports centre had great time with my child only spoiled by unsupervised young teens fighting and bombing into the water. My concern is that 2 life guards on pool side was to busy chatting to care for the safety of the pool users as quite a few people left the pool directly as a result of lack of supervision by staff. There rules were NOT UPHELD BY STAFF.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member here now for a few years and it represents incredible value. The main reason I joined was for the gym, which is well equipped with a nice friendly atmosphere - although the playlist could do with a tweak! The real bonus is having access to racquet courts, the spa, swimming pools, spin and other classes - so the price I pay gets me a lot for the money (corporate rate). After 3pm it is free to park in the dedicated GL1 car park although I usually park across the road in Asda (never had an issue). A nice community and family friendly service that provides everything I need to meet my exercise needs.

Fantastic experience: My daughter is taking swimming lessons there. Great place for all ages if you want to do some sport activities (from swimming to dancing or gymnastics, you can do them here).
