To get into PureGym Newport simply enter your access PIN into the keypad next to the outside doors and press ‘OK’. You must enter your PIN on every visit so we know exactly who’s coming into the gym. When exiting, enter your PIN again into the signposted keypad and press ‘OK’.

The gym is directly opposite the Friars Walk development, and the University of Wales, Newport is close by. If you're coming by car, pop NP20 1EU into your SatNav and park in the Kingsway Mall multi-storey car park (please check Kingsway Mall website for parking details). Members get 2 hours free parking 7am- midnight. We have a machine in the gym so you can validate your parking ticket.
Alternatively, Newport’s city centre bus and coach station is just 100 yards away, adjacent to the John Frost Square main entrance. If you’re coming by train, Newport train station is a ten-minute walk away. As you leave the station, cross Queensway and head down Bridge Street. Fantastic experience: Moved to Newport back in September 2021 and straight away me and my partner joined PureGym Newport. Lovely gym, great equipment, 24 hours helps to go in the late evening or early mornings when its much quieter. Obviously its going to be busy at peak times which is why I avoid these times. You can check on your app how busy it is (sometimes it looks busier than what it is because there are classes on at certain times of the day). Met some of the PT and they are all friendly too. You feel welcomed and nobody bothers you if you just want to come in and do your thing. Only small annoying thing (for me) is I wish you had more certain resistance machines because they can get quite popular, especially when downstairs is busy on the weights, but other than that, great gym. Me, my partner, and gym friend come 3 times a week

Positive experience: An excellent gym with great facilities the only problem is £16 a month can be too much for some people to pay with no discounts for the unemployed
Positive experience: I am new to the whole working out In the gym environment but I feel very comfortable here to be honest, if you want to be left alone to get on with your workout no one bothers you and if you want help from the personal trainers you can book time with them aswell. The only 2 small down sides are there is a lack of some of the machines leading to a minor amount of ques on bust times and the price is a touch higher than others. But if you join at free joining fee times of the year like me and don't mind changing your work out slightly on busy times to accommodate the ques (again very short wait time), you will be all set here if like me you are new to the gym.

Fantastic experience: It is nice and clean..Impressed by looking at disinfection stations placed in gym. Management should keep auto spray system as well, This will give more confident. Just a thought inview of Covid 4.2 . It would be good idea to introduce pre-booking system which allows limited people to be available in gym or should introduce fixed hrs tariff to minimize the crowed for couple of months

The entry system is fab and ensures no non member can come in and muck about, which I appreciate as that happened a lot at my old gym. The lockers are good sizes (bring your own padlock), changing facilities and showers are also very clean and well maintained. There's a lot of equipment and machines which greatly reduces the waiting time, and the staff seem friendly and super helpful. Overall a great place to come work out, and very newbie friendly.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely no problems (Covid time) sanitiser everywhere, cleaning stations to clean everything before and after. The QR code entry idea is something they may want to keep, I personally like that.

Fantastic experience: A low cost 24 hour gym in the city centre with free parking. I have never visited a gym that has been kept as clean this one. The classes aren't for me as I'd rather do my own thing, but they're there and most are free if you want to take advantage. My only minor complaint is that it gets really cold late at night in there in the winter, but the fact that is is open at 3am is impressive in itself.
