Fantastic experience: One of the best things I have EVER done is start working with a personal trainer - I can't recommend this highly enough. Nick has been fantastic and I'm looking forward to future training modules, we've achieved loads already and I love every session. It's physically hard work, it's meant to be, but he makes it a fun and accessible goal with lots of milestones to track progress. He even gives great advice on nutrition, mindset, meditation and general health as well as training :)

Fantastic experience: I've always been one of those annoying girls who would eat whatever she wanted and stay thin, exercise a tiny amount and look fit and I well and truly took that for granted...until I reached my 30's. Its not like I turned into a lard bucket on my 30th birthday, but slowly I started to notice changes. I was still slim, but my body wasn't as firm, also my cellulite (boo!) was getting worse. I do a lot of freelance web design and development work, where I could be sat at my computer for 8 hours at a time which probably didn't help. Another problem I'd been having was a severe lack of energy. I would, more often than not, come home from work and fall asleep as soon as I sat down. In fact some weeks I could spend most the weekend sleeping, I had no idea how other people managed to do so much in their lives. The words "Personal trainer" conjured up images of sweaty, beefy, tattooed men grunting in a gym. I wasn't consciously looking for a solution to these things, I was just going to accept that was how it was, but then I met Nick (and THAT is a whole other story). Before this, it is safe to say my perception of personal training was a intimidating one, the words "Personal trainer" conjured up images of sweaty, beefy, tattooed men grunting in a gym. The idea of drinking a protein shake was insanity and lifting weights? Well I don't want to end up one of those muscly woman who paint themselves in what looks like bovril. Nick just seemed like a normal friendly guy and he helped me see that I could revise some of my changes and improve my life. The first thing Nick helped me with was my diet, I had been vegetarian for 20 years and now my diet is still mostly veggie. I'd also become very lazy with my food, relying on snacking (cheese and crackers was my favourite) rather than full meals. Most importantly I was lacking a lot in nutrients and balance in my food, Nick helped me realise just how little protein I was eating, some of my meals carried no protein at all! Just changing my diet made a massive difference to my life, I have much more energy and I usually only need to sleep at night. Also, I've gone from someone who was ALWAYS nursing a cold or sore throat (I work in a college, which is germ central) to hardly being sick anymore. I also decided to cut out caffeine and this, together with my new diet, stopped the mid morning "fogginess" I used to get at work. I pre make my lunches, so that I know they are balanced, so I still feel full of energy in the afternoons. When I started training with Nick he planned out my goals with me and explained that everyone's training is different. I've got to admit I'm not the easiest client, I'm quite a lazy person when it comes to exercise and will often get de motived, this is why just joining a gym would never have worked with me. Nick keeps me motived, without being intimidating or patronising, he's a very straight forward guy. With my training, I'm seeing real improvements, as I said before I've always been slim, but now I have DEFINITION! My muscles looked toned and I have the start of a (nice lady's) 6 pack, I think I look better now than in my 20's. In my life I'm more productive, stronger, healthier and, most importantly of all, I'm happier.
