JD Gyms Castleford

Positive experience: Great gym, love that classes are included in the price. I would have given 5 stars but I get the feel that your left to get on with it (no inductions, no visible staff).

Positive experience: Good gym better now its been refurbished into JD. Only downside is the cardio section upstairs can get warm when busy and it's not that air conditioned well.

Fantastic experience: I've never really been a gym goer before, and since joining this one I'd say it's become my new religion. The staff are cool, the layout is really simple so it's easy to find what you're after. Don't be put off thinking it's only for already really fit people, there's people of all shapes and sizes which I personally found extremely comforting. Does get pretty busy, especially Mondays and Tuesdays (guess everyone's working off the weekend).

Positive experience: Very good gym, better than what was there before. Exercise for less was very outdated.

Positive experience: Average gym, but when you compare to Doncaster and Leeds equipment looks very tired. Opening hours are also poor. Forget it if you want to come before or after work Monday to Wednesday, you’ll spend more time waiting for a machine than you will exercising. Should be open 24 hours like others.

Positive experience: I've been coming to this place for years. It's changed a lot over that time. Now the gym is the best I've seen it.

Positive experience: It's a busy gym, too busy sometimes. All the equipment is brand new and shiny, everything works fine once you get a chance to use it

Fantastic experience: Positive: Quality Lovely Gym, staff very friendly, excellent value for money, having a sauna puts the icing on top of the cake for me, it relaxes your muscles so much after intense training. 10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Really good now it's been changed into a JD gym. Lots of new machines and new classes. Staff really good and also can arrange personal training sessions.

Positive experience: The gym is layed out much better than before but I find their is issue with some of the equipment still. Example cable machines don't run right on low weight one of them the bars the plates run on are out of line so you can't do low weight like if you want to do big drop sets

Fantastic experience: Love the boxercise class (3 times a week!) & using the gym floor & equipment is great. Working out with Son & Daughter is great for a catch up too. Staff are very friendly & love the chill out in the sauna after my workout.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym, load of equipment, good changing rooms, showers never really too busy.

Positive experience: It's a decent gym with a good range of equipment, but the way it was advertised it was showing womens only section which doesn't actually seem to be there, there's like hardly ever any staff there and it's usually packed but there's plenty of equipment so you're never waiting too long to use it

Positive experience: So far so good, good clean equipment, friendly staff, but be warned extremely busy after 16:30 I haven't tried any class yet as that's why I've only gave it 4 stars, well worth the money.

Positive experience: Tooooo hot on the lockers and the machines are not getting some age. But it's OK to workout

Positive experience: Nice gym, improved from xercise4less, however staff not so brill. A man PT (cannot remember name) is abit creepy. Always looks you up and down etc just makes you feel uncomfortable. Rest of the staff seem nice but not very helpful unless you spend money on their PT services, at xercise4less they were always on hand to help.

Fantastic experience: The space used to be occupied by exercise4less. The gym was tired with a lot of broken equipment. What a transformation. The facilities are great all areas fully refurbished. Well worth the monthly fee

Positive experience: The new gym looks amazing but it's constantly packed since reopening so unless you're there to do free weights it's hard to get on any machines.

Positive experience: Pretty much the same layout since taking over from exercise 4less. Some new kit added. Good free weight section and plenty of bikes and rowing machines. Good amount of lockers and toilets and showers are well kept. My only gripe is that from 4-30 onwards it is very very busy. Still good value at £20 month.
