Fantastic experience: I have recently become a member at this gym, after leaving back when Esporta owned it. With Nuffield Health taking over it is the best it has ever been, I am only writing this review in absolute shock at the 1 star reviews and had to make people aware Nuffield health do not hound people who make enquiries, in my experience they have always been polite and back when it was Virgin Active, I visited and decided not to re-join due to the prices, I NEVER got hounded or "bullied" into joining - it's laughable! The staff are the friendliest staff I have encountered in this area - the only other premises with similar offerings to Nuffield health is Cwmbran stadium - and the staff there don't care whether you are there or not! Besides which it is FILTHY. The classes were extremely poor and they have separate changing facilities for the pool and the gym, meaning an unbelievable amount of messing about unchanging, changing and changing to unchange again simply to switch facilities! I ended up leaving there after a month and a half - thank goodness I didn't take out a longer contract. Anyway - back to Nuffield health. The building is very well kept and they have new renovations being implemented as I write this review - they are doing this with having only taken over Virgin Active for about 2 months. This Health Club is far from dirty, the gym is fab with always a friendly face or two willing to assist you and motivate you. The classes are great - lovely instructors and new classes are being added all the time to suit us members. You really couldn't ask for more. Some grouting needs replacing on tiles by Jacuzzi, and a button doesn't work on the HydroPool - however I've recently had a members newsletter stating the HydroPool will have a complete re-fit by January and I've no doubt those few tiles with mouldy grouting will be replaced too. It even mentioned the shower rooms getting re-fitted. I agree Virgin Active was far too expensive with them unwilling to make some renovations (looked nearly the same as when it was Esporta) - however Nuffield Health are not only sprucing the place up in every way possibly needed (there's not much that needs doing I might add) but they have also dropped the price dramatically. It is now just £35 per month for FULL ACCESS to this well kept, friendly Health Club. I paid that for the council owned disgusting Stadium... Out of a public council run facility where you don't feel wanted or even part of anything - to a private health club (Nuffield Health) where you feel important as an individual, and they listen to you and personalise any advice given (it's unbelievable how little other facilities I've joined actually care about you) ...I know which facility I'd choose. Well, I have - and in the mere month I've been a member - I have lost 1 stone and never enjoyed visiting the gym so much. THIS HEALTH CLUB IS FANCTASTIC! Anyone who says any different is hoping their review will get them something or more than likely, get them out of a contract because they're too lazy to make use of it. This is just my opinion though - I urge anyone who is unsure to go on their website and get a FREE trial with them and see what you think - after all, an opinion is just that. Not fact

Fantastic experience: I have recently joined this gym and so far, so good. The staff seems friendly and always smiling. The gym itself is not huge, but has everything you may need. Good classes and the pool is very nice as well.
