The Gym Group Chester City Centre

Positive experience: V. good gym with quality equipment, all at a reasonable price. However they need to stop people using mobile phones. There are kids in there sitting on machines not working out, watching movies on their mobile phones when people are waiting to use the equipment.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic new 24 hour gym which has been long overdue in Chester City Centre. Most of the folks from the nearby Northgate Arena gym have already moved over to The Gym and I don't blame them. Far bigger, far more modern, and almost half the price! Could this be the catalyst for the downfall or desperately needed refurbishment of the Northgate Arena? The only criticism I have so far is that the heavy punchbag is far too close to the wall, to the point where you can only really perform hooks on the bag. Not sure if that one was thought through!

Positive experience: Love the gym group and have been a member for a couple years now, moved to Chester and this gym conveniently opened at the same time so perfect. Compared to the ones I’ve been to in plymouth at the same price there’s some stuff I use that’s not here and a lot less mirror space and benches. It’s still a nice and clean gym and obviously you get all the benefits you get with all the gym group gyms. One thing that has annoyed me is that floor space in unavailable upstairs when classes are on, I rudely got kicked downstairs by a staff member saying I’m not allowed upstairs unless I join in. In the other gyms I’ve been in it’s not been a problem and they just let me know there’s a session starting and I move to be out the way. I could join in yes however I prefer to do my own thing. I love the gym nonetheless and I fully recommend it, just being brutally honest and comparing to past experiences so the 3 star rating is in comparison to the other gym group gyms I’ve been to.

Fantastic experience: Great quality equipment all well spaced out. Gym is clean and well set up. Nice to have a 24/7 gym in the centre of Chester. Also a really great selection in the Vending Machines all there to properly cater for Gym Goers.

Fantastic experience: The gym is nice and have loads of space to do your workout. Came in at a quiet time. As a larger person, I felt comfortable working out in here, the staff are friendly and will make you feel welcome.
